Ok tried out the Galli with the latest patch, at least for this beastie the Stam changes have been positive, I can run for some distance before I hit 75% Stam, then just trot until all Stam is replenished, which takes about the same time as it does to use it, for the Galli this really makes travelling a lot faster.. anyway the game feels easier due to the Stam changes, and a little more "cheerful" due to the nicer weather

Also noticed:

- The weather is milder and more sunny

- AI is everywhere, including fish schools (this was in the south plains on a mostly full server)

- Boar AI is smarter (knows when to fight and run) also more aggressive at least to a Galli

- A Galli migration zone seems to have moved (could be mistaken here), with a ton of food in the south plains

Interesting. I really like the change that you can regen stam while trotting as long as you only used a small amount of it.

There's something I'm so curious about I gotta get in game to test. Does this system change ptera or Beipi in any way.

Thanks for sharing!

Changes seem plausible now! I will just wait for some of the feedback before re-installing.

I haven't played them yet, but watching others in game and what I have heard they are very viable

The fish spawns are in places they never were before, and there always appears to be fish schools available, so if your a beipi, herrera or ptera, it looks like you will grow fat on fish

Also found a turtle on the south west beach, and it wasn't just sitting still, it was moving on the beach, then it went for a swim (damn fast in water)

One unexpected event as a Galli I witnessed at the small lone pond at west rail access was 2 schools of fish leaping about, never seen fish there before, and in the pond was a beipi and a herrera fishing and chasing each other, again never seen those two Dino's living near or in that pond before

Ok played as a Ptera, its true there are more fish schools, but the nutrients per fish is reduced and the schools themselves deplete quickly.. if your a Ptera main, either hold off for now and wait for changes or go in knowing it's still not that easy

Now that I'm aware of this, I think I noticed the reduced food intake with my Galli as well

I had been kind of hoping that the stam changes would add some additional things to beipi and ptera but there's nothing additional aside from the stuff given to others.
Would have been nice if ptera's glide behaved as a trott so you could regen stam in the air but only if you used very little. Or same rules but for latching. Regen stam while latched but only if you used barely any. Oh well. It's still kind of nice to be able to walk on the ground with some speed and regain stam while going up a hill for a better launch point or something.

I did not find any fish what-so-ever today but perhaps that is because I was playing on unoffical. Instead my ptera was eatting organs to get that nice tripple dot diet which is deffinitly the best one to have on a ptera if you can manage to get it.

Similiarly the land trott regen is nice on beipi but I really wish swimming underwater without holding shift didn't use stam. Or that ancoring to the bottum could be treated like a trott where it regens stam if you didn't use much.

I think there's a lot of potential for this usage based stam regen and things that could be allowed to regen stam as long as you haven't crossed a threshold.

Herrera also does not regenerate stamina while slowly climbing or clinging to something which it definitely should considering how stamina intense jumping is it would make it much more fluid if you could jump to a tree, climb it a bit and then jump to another having regained a fair bit of stamina from the first jump.

I think they are too restrictive with the trot regeneration limit, needing to have 75% or more stamina means you can only use 25% stamina before you have to crawl or stand still like before, thats just a jump or two and a few seconds of sprinting even for a light weight dino like Herrera and in general punishes smaller dinos too much compared to larger ones. Large dinos can often dictate their pace in a fight against smaller opponents while the small dinos are forced to sprint and evade to not immediately die.

Aside from that the actual regeneration when resting is still abysmal, largely due to how little you regenerate at the start so even fairly small amounts of stamina still takes up to 1-2 minutes to regenerate simply because most of the stamina you gain is in like the last 20-30 seconds.

So what I would do is give all the dinos like Herrera, Beipi and Ptera regeneration when "doing their thing", Ptera would only gain a very minor stamina regen while gliding because even that would make it capable of flying 24/7 if it wants to.

I would scrap the trot stamina limit entirely and instead replace it with a stamina regeneration delay based on the 75/50/25% marks. So you would always have stamina regeneration while trotting but for example 75% and above there would be a 2 second delay after using stamina before it would start to regenerate again, above 50% the delay would be 4 seconds, above 25% 6 seconds and below 25% it would be 10 seconds.

A delay on the stamina regen based on your current stamina would give a much "smoother" experience than the very artificial feel of the current way it works. Would also hugely improve traveling since no matter what you can choose to simply keep trotting no matter what stamina you have and eventually it would start to regenerate.

Maybe a little bug which not effect the gameplay , but Z walk on dilo never regen any stamina , it seems on other dinos too (after 2 more patches)

That's got to be a bug. There's no reason they'd make the Z walk less stam help then trotting. None I can think of anyway.

Hypsi gets a small stam regen boost after a super jump to make up for that jump thing. I think Herrera could use a similiar feature.
