They never give estimates about release dates.

look at this way, this game would progress with more people if this developing team had a voice for chat or a discord and got involved with community. Its only took 8 years to get this far without a voice. I don't invest into a game to much when they don't connect to the community. Icarus is the only game that has a reputation unlike any gaming corporation. Voice and patches, over 100 update patches week after week for over 100 weeks and they just keep coming....

Lol. This game pushes discord like it's endangered. I really don't think lacking a chat is what's wrong.

Thats just not true is it, plenty of devs engage with their community

Well they first started working on humans over 7 years ago and as far as I'm aware made barely any progress at all so I'm going to assume many more years

We can only hope for this, imagine playing this as a Stego or other dino that takes a long time to grow and then a human walks into a building or w/e where they can loot stuff, finds a assault rifle and ammo, sees you out in the field munching on grass and then you are dead.

Or change whatever you feel like with that but none of it will be fun either way.

Even if we take it in the other direction and the Stego survives it... then what is the point of humans if their weapons are less than wet noodles? A small army of humans with guns would die to one or two Carnos if the weapons are NOT strong enough.

But if the weapons are strong enough that one or two humans can take down something like a Carno or Stego then we are back at the start and servers will have bands of roaming human players just gunning everything down as they see them.

sorry, not happening for half a decade at this point. This game came out with more dinos, better food system/stamina than it has now almost two presidents ago

Honestly, I think at this point in development humans would just ruin the experience.

Hot take: MAYBE leave them for a separate branch for people who would like to use them. As a dinosaur survival game, it just doesn't make sense unless the game was modelled after Jurassic Park - which it isn't. I think?

Damn, now I'm fighting with myself in my head.

"Then how the f*** did the buildings get there!?"

I'll see myself out.

Yeah, this game was always going to have humans from the beginning. It was very much going to be an offbrand jurassic park survival game. Originally the only playables were going to be human, raptor and rex, with everything else being AI. They added the others as playables because people were begging for them, but my conspiracy theory brain tells me that it was really because getting the AI to work was just too hard, so they opened everything as playables so they were actually ingame.

Yeah my sub-conscious kicked in and made me feel dumb after posting that lol.

Thanks for the tidbit of history though, never knew that about the very start of the game!

Of course its modelled after Jurassic park, why do you think there are human structures, and animals not native to the dinosaur era. Like deer, goats, boars, and rabbits, this game was always going to be like Jurassic park.
