Deino. I hate Deino.

I have grown many tenonto, and i have killed many who have failed to hunt me. You want to know how i die every single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time? Deinos. Not because i have a slow reaction time, not because they get the jump on me, because Tenonto's long ass tail counts as a successful hitbox for Deino's lunge! Great game design! I love getting 3 full seconds of reacting, having full turned around, actively running away, and i teleport into the Deino's mouth! I want to cry!

And you know the most insulting part? THEY NEVER DROWN ME. NEVER. THEY STUN LOCK ME. I died on a very cool server that i will likely not get a chance to again [The void's oasis] because its perma-death! ♥♥♥♥ you Dondi, again! The amount of stress this game has caused me recently makes me want to forget about this game entirely, but i can't. The lack of competitors always draws me back.

How do you expect for Deino Players to get any food? They are the ones to have the most patience to get any chance, and you complain that their lunge does count for your massive tail, which is also a weapon??
I am sorry for your loss, but it is what it is.

And dondi is not responsible for the perma death rules of that unofficial server.
At least you are not wrecking the whole game and the whole community for it!

You managed to misunderstand everything i said. Dondi is responsible for balancing; Deino is balanced horribly. Tenos "weapon" means it is neigh impossible to escape a lunge even if you saw it coming. Deino starving is a consequence of them being overpowered; nobody wants to risk drinking somewhere they can be lunged. And the fast food drain, yet again Dondi's doing.
You fully belive that Deino should win automatically by one-tapping? Even if they don't use their damned ability as intended? 3 full hours of your time, gone? To something unavoidable, even if you see it coming?
It's not "it is what it is" because this happens every damn time. I honestly don't remember the last time i died to something other than Deino. Not saying i should be immortal, but i SHOULD be able to survive an encounter with skill. Deino wins no matter what because it is mindless, which as i stated elsewhere isn't fun to play as either! I want to enjoy this game, it gives a feeling like no other when you aren't subjected to Dondi's ego, but is quickly out-weighed by all the game-ruining things like this. At least give me sandbox for ♥♥♥♥♥ sake!

skill issue

you are dumb to try to face the apex predator of the game when it cant even chase you. you stand below in the food chain dont complain it you get kill trying to attack it. and yes a massive tail is a valid hit box , just like animal in real life grab others by their tails lol

At what point did i say i attacked? I move away after spotting the Deino [long in advance] while drinking water. I get grabbed from a mile away while turned around because of the tail. I do actually mess with them on land quite a lot! Never die then because i know what i'm doing. The problem is there is NO counter. If you are a Teno drinking water, you WILL get grabbed by any Deino that lunges. Even drinking at a safe spot i got grabbed because of this jank.

why are you drinking at deino hot spot ? plenty of river to be more safe and dont run away in the opposite direction go sideway. i never even once been attack by a deino while trying to drink water...

but you being grab by the long tail feel very legit. are you lagging maybe ? whats your fps and ping ?

Going sideways still gets my tail grabbed. And if i move any other direction i get body grabbed. Lose lose situation. And again, where did i say i was drinking at a Deino hotspot? It can happen anywhere. It has happened in the middle of nowhere in a random river. Shouldn't matter anyway, my fate should not be sealed because someone just happens to be passing by.
I thought it was lag too the first time it happened, everything going by in a blur and all, but then it happened again. And again. And again. And again. I am very confident in what i am seeing. I had a an outstanding 23 ping at this most recent incident, every other time is around ~50. 60 FPS.

well it seem to happen too often to you vs everyone else for it to not be a you problem.

check better for deino before drinking , change your tactic , do something because there is not enough deino on a server for them to be always going at you , specialy outside hotspot where there is NO food for them to go for.

there is even lots of clear water spot where you see whats in it to avoid being attack by passing deino, try at night , dont stay too long , dont wait until you have 0 water and need 2 minute to fill up etc

How can i check for a Deino thats fully submerged underwater? You know, invisible?
And i keep saying, even in clear water; i DO SEE THEM. I react fast. I move fast. Still get grabbed cause of the tail. I drink at shallow spots, still happens. I do not want to walk 10 minutes to the nearest 100% safe spot. Which by the way, makes Deino completely redundant if everyone did.
I am held hostage at Northeast Plains against my will. It is a hotspot by default because the zone never moves. I can't just... leave. I need the food. I have not been lunged EVERY time i drink, but just that off chance it does happen can sour my entire day and overall opinion of the game. It shouldn't happen in the first place.

If you're still being grabbed despite moving in time, it may be an internet issue. However, Tenos do have a fairly small hotbox, even for the size of their tail, so while I don't want to say that you aren't responding quick enough, you may simply need more practice with the ways you drink water.

Yes, you do have to leave NE Plains for the water. Yes, it's annoying, but currently with the state of the game it is needed. I found a herd in NA 3 that has a great path over to water, with most casualties being from the NE plains water source rather than the one they journey to.

you can survive on grazing the weed you dont NEED your food so yes you can go further to drink safe water , also all river have safer spot to drink ( behind wood , rock and stuff like that where deino cant lunge at you )

like i said it seem to be an issue only to you so it really look like a you ( skill , internet etc ) issue.

??? on the gateway map deino is the most useless one of them all, there is A LOT of water you can drink from that is shallow enough for ages to see them coming, and plenty of ponds off the main waterways to also not care about deino's. Not to mention single/lone deinos often die from starvation or cannibals because there's no other food for them as they are not in huge groups (due to how current AI spawner works)
Deino's also pretty much require either herrerra's or other small creatures to lure other predators near them for food, or at very least need them near to have fish spawn....

If you think deino is the most broken dino in the game then you are severely misinformed and need to just get better at the game or survival in general.

Yo you can see the Deinos glowing eyes in the water with nightvision, dead giveaway and so far I haven't died at night to a deino after the shining eyes was added

Name one place that NEVER has a croc in it. Oh right, there is not one. At least one that wont see you possibly dieing of starvation to get to.
