Starved as Beipi in the Swamp.. Because of this

I was starving, found a large fish and spent ages trying to kill it. After i finally killed it (taking damage from starvation), it didn't rise to the top of the water and therefore I couldn't eat it. Starved to death.

Even when I play other dinosaurs, there's simply not enough AI. There NEEDS to be more AI otherwise the players are going to get bored of starving to death over and over again. I cannot play the new dino Herrera because I can't last long enough, and rarely ever get to adult with all nutrients.

Needs to change, otherwise the players are going to leave.

I'm getting beaten to the food by bigger dinos, and they always make sure they eat every bit so I can't have any too. Herrera is impossible to play right now because there's not enough food.

I was thinking earlier today that its amazing how arrogant the devs are to be able to drop this garbage update on everyone and then bugger off on vacation for like a month+, before fixing or rolling things back so the game is even playable.

Because whats even worse is that its not just that the devs are gone for a month, the issues wont be fixed when they get back either because they will need time to figure out what is wrong and then fix it.

So we are sitting here a month then maybe 2-3 weeks more(probably a bit optimistic with the slow pace they work at) while they are back before the game is even in a somewhat playable state again.

Yea Beipi can't eat elite fish. And swamps appear to be fishless for the moment.
Your best hope is to cling to the bottom and search for crabs.

i have never starved as beipi, there food is everywhere in infinite amounts.....beipi and ptera are impossible to starve on

its obvious you havent played in the last 1-2 weeks so ill catch you up

dilo and herrera got added, but with this update the AI went extinct, so theres 0 ai anywhere on the map most of the time. this is why youre seeing so many starving posts now, "i starved as [insert playable here], where is all the ai?!"

I hear you, but counterpoint: Just flooding the map with AI so everyone can find food at all times without issue would make this game too easy. Its a survival game. Sometimes, you starve. Thats just how it goes.
If you really dont like it play herbivores... then again, you did starve on an omnivore, so this might be a skill issue. Learn the map, learn the game, and you will eventually starve much less, if at all.
Also, stop relying entirely on AI when playing carnivore. Spawn in more populated areas, scavange corpses or hunt other juvies.

Yea god forbid they take some time off to spent the holidays with friends and family. Yea the update has issues, thats no question, but at the same time you´d probably have just as many people complaining that they didnt release anything before the holidays.

So chill tf out. Don´t like the current update that much? Wait for the next one if its really as unplayable to you as you claim it is.
Or just get better at the game. Because there is AI to be found. Or corpses of other players. Granted, hardly any stupid Teno AI that feeds 10 carnivores to adulthood, but I see that as an absolute win.

i mean yea you can spend time with freinds and family but like, its still ♥♥♥♥♥♥ how you realease it a week prior to the holidays, and then drop 1-2 hotfixes and dip when you know theres a big borderline game breaking bug, i could understand if it was released a few days before christmas or whatever holiday but it was released atleast a week before hand, better yet how about we give them 2 days theoretically to drop hotfixes, they dropped 2 hotfixes after 1 day of 7.5 then dipped, in that time they didnt see ANY complaints of the bad AI that wouldve been a rather simple fix? also, no theres 0 ai, the only reasons ive been able to scamper and get by is by scavenging the bodies of other starved herreras or the occasional...nothing actually lol, sometimes theres AI super concentrated in one place or theres a whopping 2 on the ENTIRE map, just look up some videos on youtube for example.

AI spawns do not factor into getting better at the game. There are no chickens, no goats, no boars, no frogs, no turtles, no deer in a vast majority of the map. Even near migration zones there tends to be little if any AI.

Being a Carnivore is supposed to be hard, but not to the point of mass starvation that we are seeing with the player base. I love playing carnivore but when it becomes more of a headache instead of challenging fun is when we know something is wrong.

On the highly populated official servers I never even get a chance to starve to death. There's always a bigger dino who eats me because they have no other food

To be fair, thats kinda the whole idea of this game. Practice your situational awareness and it will happen less often.

do you even play the game ?

Ptera is simply unplayable at the moment with the new stamina regen and the river empty of any kind of fish

beipi biome is the swamp and yet the WHOLE swamp is EMPTY of any kind of food , no fish , no frog no vegie nothing.

currently food only spawn in a few very specific point where all the dino are , if you are not in that hot spot competing with 90% of the server , you are starving to death ( beside herby that can graze the lawn )

The only reason why one might not starve as Beipi or Galli is, because they can dig for foot to spawn direct before them at certain places. Small pond at centre always spawned frog. Had not played Galli since, but I would assume it is still the case.

As Ptera I manage to survive only because I know where all the players are sitting, leading for all the fish to spawn at that one area!

I agree that one can see starving as one of those be more as an issue on the player skill/knowlegde side, but man you need to be pretty behind the moon if you think that the increase of starving in general is not linked to something being messed up in the first place.
