Try 'Islander Semi-Realism Discord server' (fewer rules over all)
You will need to register in this servers discord and get approved, this is to keep out bad actors, the types of rubbish players your talking about
The server also has a healthy population most times of the day as well
I wasn't there pre-legacy official server rules, but I suspect they were as bad then too lol.
Herbies will teamkill occasionally out of simple boredom. There is no option to die or log and spawn in as something else.
The larger carnivores will do it to avoid starvation. This creates a cycle where they don't trust each other and may kill each other just to avoid being backstabbed later.
Luckily for the developers both of these are solved with one change.
Raise Officials to 200 players
Herbivores won't be bored when they are actually in danger. No need to kill a fellow pachy if there is a raptor to bludgeon. You wouldn't kill other herbies either because having them around increases your odds of survival. We will actually see herds form naturally which would be awesome.
The carnivores will still occasionally engage in this. Mostly because there will be so many carnivores running around that you'll have to. But apex carnivores not trusting each other and forming huge packs is a GOOD thing.
When you look at the situation with smaller carnivores you don't see the team killing and cannibalism. Troodons and Raptors don't kill each other. Part of this is the larger group size but more importantly they hunt for food at great risk to themselves AND they have predators that would gladly kill them for a meal.
The TLDR is:
People teamkill because there aren't enough threats on the map for them to avoid boredom. Make sure every dino has a weakness that can be exploited and has to risk their neck to eat. And you'll solve your problem. If you have predators and prey that could end you, team-killing is the last thing on your mind.
Also you may check out the petit pieds Server. Has just little rules. Also a Player cap of 140 and running way smoother than the EU officials 😁
Of course, sometimes you see jerks (I encountered some Teno Cannis some time ago) but u can mostly avoid them by being a little cautious. Said Tenos, when I wrote "hi" in chat just started running at me... Well I was outta there really fast 🤣
So don't be too trusting and you can make your playthrough a nice experience most of the time 😉
No carnies mixing is what sets it apart from something like POT, or primal carnage. Let carnie mixing go unchecked too much, and yer just doing the same thing those games are doing haha. Realism just flew out the window! The last line was crossed haha.
i say "unchecked too much" bc you can never completely get rid of that. It's when it's rly deliberate, planned and gets out of hand for far too long is when it's a problem for players.
I heard punch say pretty much the same thing i just said there about it never rly going away and players are players, but evrima officials have ZERO say in that atm haha. So ya, that management for the official is still very much missing.
I think it should be a toggle tho, for player servers. Anything they do to manage it, I mean. So you don't force that on player servers, ofc. IF.. IF, that's still their plan and I rly do hope it is. My last talk with punch was encouraging, but it's still just talk, ATM.
