Wait for it to come out public if you are not a stress tester. The rest of us must just watch it on Youtube untill we can be unleashed onto it ourselves.
I can't possibly imagine any worse map than Spiro... so getting new map sounds like exciting news.
Doesnot matter where i ll have mating seasons in open flat area or in bushes xDDD
Awww. That's not entirely true. What use to be the shallows leads to a still very pretty ravine even if its tendency for being a deathtrap can be a nuisance. Most of the other ravines are just big ditches or channels but that one has hanging vines and cool rock formations and stuff so that specific ravine I really like. There was once a path that conected all over the island too. It was broken over time by map changes but some of its fragments lead to a few interesting looking spots in the jungle.
I hope the new map keeps the few cool spots or is inspired by the few cool spots we currently have and adds much more cool spots on top of that. Cuz yeah. Other then the few cool spots it is kind of barren. The jungles help it for me just because I like jungles and it was kind of fun learning the compass as a way to navigate them. I'm pretty good at jungle travel now. But when they removed the trees to get people to use that area past the use to be shallows bleh. That area looks so bald. I was glad when the diet update made me not feel like I had to visit there anymore. Because not only did plants move around a little bit but half the time I don't even want those radishes.
The isle is getting boring because its been nothing but silent charging carnos with bad walking and running sounds poor sound optimization and poor sound quality poor sound in general...i can hear a deino growl from a mile still but cant hear a 1 Ton carno charging at me before im dead. Lets not forget the OP uncontested stegos killing everything because there's nothing to effectively kill them and so now they are just a troll tank in rule-less servers. the isle has been stale for FAR too long,
Finally, it seems like the devs are just doing whatever THEY want to do and nothing that the crowd that funded the game wants... no new dinos but they gave us useless unfinished humans and have AWFUL looking movment and little very detail ZERO customization..... no weapons, abilities, ♥♥♥♥ mechanics i mean WTH? and no new dinos i mean come ON nobody and i mean NOBODY wanted humans before a new dino in a DINO SURVIVAL GAME...how long ago did we get pachy???? how longs this game been getting developed??? dont hand me core updates either that boat is long gone PoT has managed to have a dozen dinos release and has mod support in the time it took the isle team to dish out 1 or 2. and their roster has no issues with ecosystem living or balance for the most part...There is still no real way to encourage people to stop sitting at hot spots and explore the map which diet was supposed to do but really just encouraged staying put even more because thats where the food is especially for carnivores and adults because diet offers no real reward especially after adult. oh yes you get a bit more hp and stam recovery which only really has a benefit AFTER the fights over and still just leaves fights to be determined by growth, dino and who lands the first strike in cases of inter species fights instead of something like permanent upgrades that tip the balance of fighting in ones favor which is a REAL reason to explore and keep diet...who wouldn't want to have a good diet for a permanent 5% attack buff as an adult? i sure as hell would....but when it just saves me grow time? well i can just chill in a safe spot near an adult that pick off their food and just auto pilot thee grow.
I've been literally taking 3-6 month breaks between TI sessions, waiting for patches to arrive, not following news anymore, trying to be patient, have been reading only some devblogs. Imagine my confusion whenever I come back for a session or two.
I literally see the same goal they set 1,5 years ago. Nothing they have promised has been finished since then, except the Pachycephalosaurus.
Simple reason: they don't follow the roadmap, they abandon or pause unfinished and promised features and begin new unmapped ones every once in a while, like Gateway.
Cherry on top is that while the community has been having access only to a years old unfinished map, now a certain circle gets access to new features, shoving it into fans faces on streaming platforms to help The Isle desperately earn attention and affection by its customers. That is simply insulting to see.
I am going to be honest here, I had no experience in game development before, then started an indie passion project with my brother in UE5 last fall and was invited into a similar one to a beginner team of 10. Noone including me had any experience in game development, both teams are doing it in their free time after work hours, neither have funding yet, and both are developing faster than The Isle.
I may choose an alternate approach, downgrading my walking simulator to Legacy or just buying another dino game, because I miss the time I didn't have to try hard to get into herds or packs, graze the whole map, do migrations, have fun.
Dissappointment is the appropriate word for Gateway.
