Improved Combat - Fix to Butt-Biting
My suggestions for Butt-Bite fixing are 2 things:
Everytime a dinosaur bites/swings/attacks, they slow down to a trot for about 1 second, which would prevent butt-biting without the use of Alt-turning, as the dino being butt-bit can get enough distance to manouver after 1-2 bites.

With that, i suggest slowing the rate of attacks for dinosaurs, most of them can attack twice per second, i think the fastest attackers should be one attack per second, so that fighting is more opportunistic = if you miss your bite, you're at a disadvantage, so you have to time it and not spam left click.

Alt-Turn should remain, but be slowed down to 20%, only be used in manouvering around cliffs and trees etc, not combat.

Everybody hates Alt-Turn being used in combat, only apex players don't as they are too afraid of Utahs and Dilos.. So this is a fix that will satisfy both sides of the spectrum.

Another thing i thought about, the slow down effect when biting doesn't apply if you're in ambush, so you can still do your hit and run tactic. (Carno would be the only exception as their turn is weak, they are the fastest and they have no ambush.

Think about it that way, try butt-biting a Trex, with any dinosaur and hitting left click once every 1 second and only trotting/walking and lets see how long you will last without alt-turn involved by either parties... Creatures expend lots of energy to attack so slowing down to a trot during combat is closer to realism than turning in place.

It will also make combat more interesting as smaller dinos will almost be forced to use Ambush from now on when fighting a bigger game predator.

It's called standing still and twirling in place breaking all balancing mechanics of the game. The Alt turn needs animations because it is by far the most broken feature of the game. I hate that system so much that I refuse to play in servers that do not remove it. Watching dinos just spin around faster than you can ambush run so they always have teeth pointed at you is purely a broken or incomplete system.

Exactly, My "Solutions" are made, so that you can still outplay someone by sneaking up on them and getting behind them. You are rewarded by getting 1 max 2 bites while they are exposed, but your bite spree cant tontinue as the butt-bit dinosaurs gains distance as long as he doesn't left click and you do. Creatures use alot of energy so slowing down when attacking isn't far from realism. Less so than spinning in place.

it just looks stupid atm, but it has its eligibilty, and has been discussed over and over again. Without Alt Turn, all big predators die much too easily to Allo, Utah packs, and they even dont have to be a big pack...

Besides that, in dangerous situations, all huge animals in real live also move around faster than you might think or know. And ambush still works, since a suprising attack shouldnt give the defender enough time to alt turn fast enough anyway.

So exactly, the ''solution'' above should in theory work. Alt turn is rendered useless in combat, but big dinosaurs can still gain distance between the attacker after 1-2 bites.

Its not unrealistic. can you turn in place? no? your a disabled. It'd be utterly stupid if a mighty rex died for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ utah thats biting it's ankles.
Good, I don't want your whining bullcrap on my servers btw.

Correct me if im wrong, you are a Rex player who has never touched another dinosaur other than an apex carnivore or Hebrivore, 90% of your time you spend sitting at a lake with your friends Trikes, Gigas and Utahs chatting in Global and waiting for newbie players to come to you while you take advantage of their situation. Not trying to be rude, just wondering brother <3
Please read over my post and think about what you say next, but it's better if you dont text at all, to anyone, ever.

No actually, I've only ever gotten to adult rex once, and it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring because everything died in 6 hits. Plus I play official, which don't have global, and I often avoid major ponds due to the mega packs of carnos and dilos.

Not that they are an issue when you an adult giga...

As a comment previously said, sometimes you cant even ambush a Rex without him Alt-turning in time for his mouth to be facing you, ambushing and stealthing on a dinosaur is meant to be rewarding, Giga cant attack a Rex realistically without getting alt-turned after 1 second and bitten, but then again we dont want the Rex to be ass bit til its dead.
So the solution is above..
If a giga is on Rexe's ass and bites him, he slows down to a trot for long enough so the rex can run far enough to reposition his mouth towards the giga, at the same time, Giga has options to either continue chasing or turn the opposite direction and escape the jaws just in time. No Alt turn needed and it makes combat more dimentional than it is..

If it turn before you land a bite, then you was not enaugh sneaky...

I'm hearing a lot of people throwing fits about alt turn. Let's be real here.

Does alt turn look good? No.

Is alt turn realistic? Yes. I don't see why an animal couldn't be able to use it's own two feet to turn in place, other animals can turn in place. I don't see why dinosaurs couldn't.

Is alt turn unbalanced? No. If anybody complains because they (Or their pack) can't sucessfully land bites on animals without taking a hit because of an animal's ability to turn in place, that's a personal problem. Majority of players on official servers can hunt with alt turn, so you can to. A whole new mechanic, which would cost time and money to make doesn't need to be added into the game to compensate for your unskilled players unable to kill animals without riding it's ass.
