Dino Stamina Pools??
Is there a chart somewhere that shows the stamina pools for dinos? The only one I know of is this which doesn't seem to factor in stamina.

I don't know of any. Do you mean survival, or sandbox?
beebee73 Nov 19, 2019 @ 7:18am
I mean in terms if how much stamina they have...I like to read/browse threads & ninja weasels proposals iften mention such & such would have a stamina pool of 3.4 ir something if that natire but it means nothing to me as don't know what the stamina pools CURRENTLY are...whereas talks of speed/damage I can better understand as is listed On the above linked chart.

Try the wiki, bb, it usually gives the time for how long animals can run.

Here[the-isle-dinosaur-game.fandom.com]

This gives you a page to check dinosaur's and some of their stats, stam drain time is one of them.

this, but its best used as a jumping off point. both the wiki and the wikia are notoriously unreliable and have multiple stats listed down that are simply incorrect.

Most information is incomplete, out of date, or wrong. I'll mess around with it, and tell you what I find out, if the above suggestions aren't fruitful.

Thanks forgot about the wkik as was told it was outdated with inaccurate info...but will check it oit for stamina info. 😸

I ran each dinosaur at 100% of each stage of growth until their stamina ran dry. This test does "not" include jumping, special attacks, or ambushing while running. I don't know if this is useful to you, but I was curious to see how they all stacked up, and some results surprised me! Again, this is how everyone stacks up in an endurance run. I didn't know if you wanted information about juveniles, and or adults, so I tested them both.

By running dinosaurs till they drop you can see how big the stamina pools are and allow you to compare them. :)

Let's begin with full grown herbivore juveniles:

Pachy

Galli

Para

Maia

Trike/Dibble/Dryo

There's difference of about a minute of run time between each result here. The juvenile pachy wins.

Let's look at full grown carnivore Juveniles:

Carno

Dilo

Utah

Cerao/Sucho

Rex

Allo/Giga

For the most part, the differences are about a minute, save for the juvenile dilo who lasts a bit longer than most, and barely beats utah by about 10 secs, but not nearly as long as the juvenile carno who leaves everyone in the dust by nearly 2 mins.

Who's the juvenile with the best stamina for running in survival mode? The Juvenile Carno.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, let's look at the full grown subs:

Rex

Trike

Giga

The sub-rex and sub-trike are really close with only about a 10 sec difference or so, but the sub-giga gets left behind by about a minute.

The sub-rex comes out on top here.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, let's look at the full grown herbivore adults:

Galli

Dryo

Para

Maia

Pachy

Dibble

Trike

The galli towers above the herbivores with 2+ mins more of running! Para, and dryo are neck and neck, with about a minutes difference down on the list. The trike really doesn't have much stamina compared to other herbivores.

And now, the full grown carnivore adults:

Utah

Carno

Allo/Sucho

Cerato

Dilo

Giga

Rex

The difference between the rex and giga are about 10 sec, so it's really close. The utah towers above the others just like a juvneile carno towers above their tier. Utah is the clear winner in the carnivore catagory!

So, who has the brass ones to last the longest among the adult dinosaurs? The galli! The galli beats the utah by 1+ mins run time!

If you want teh dinosaur with the best stamina usage for running? The gallimimus! At the start, as a juvenile, the carno is the best choice.

Who faired the worst? The trike, dibble, and dryo are all chain smokers at the beginning of the game, but when everyone's got their big boy pants on, the rex has the worst endurance to run. Good thing it's trot is good!

If you enjoyed this, and found it insightful, I can do another one for recovery times. Both when moving, and resting. :) These tests are decisive, and current. Note that all findings do not include the changes as a dinosaur grows to 100%. So, at any given time any information like this from anywhere is never 100% accurate all the time.

There is a way to calculate the actual base stamina.

Swim.

For all creatures except Bary, Sucho, Pachy, Austro and I think Spino as well, they drain 2 stamina per second of swimming.

Those yield the actual base stamina. However, sprinting drains different amounts from different dinosaurs; some only lose 1 stamina per second, others lose 2 or 3. As such you'll find plenty of cases where creatures last nowhere near as long as you'd expect; a Triceratops has 200 Stamina, but given it burns 3 stamina per second sprinting, they only last 66 seconds before they pucker out.

Furthermore the above results by Lesstalmorelive aren't entirely accurate. The orders aren't entirely false, it's rather the timeframes involved - but also some of the orders are off when stated as being tied or not being tied.

Here are the runtimes for full-adult Survival dinosaurs. I also happen to know Subadult Tyrannosaurus' and quite frankly considering how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ powerful they are + the capability of nesting, I do fully consider them to be an adult in their own right (full Subrex are the strongest mid tier by a mile).

Tyrannosaurus: 33 seconds of sprinting
Giganotosaurus: 50 seconds of sprinting
Triceratops: 66 seconds of sprinting
Dilophosaurus: 150 seconds of sprinting
Ceratosaurus: 150 seconds of sprinting
Sub. Tyrannosaurus: 160 seconds of sprinting
Pachycephalosaurus: 170 seconds of sprinting
Maiasaura: 180 seconds of sprinting
Allosaurus: 200 seconds of sprinting
Suchomimus: 200 seconds of sprinting
Carnotaurus: 225 seconds of sprinting
Parasaurolophus: 240 seconds of sprinting
Dryosaurus: 250 seconds of sprinting
Utahraptor: 300 seconds of sprinting
Gallimimus: 400 seconds of sprinting

Try running a 100% adult para, and dryo together at the same time (a contest of stamina), and see who runs out of steam first? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, though, so I made the change to my list. I'm glad the rest of it was bang on. :)

The Para runs out of steam first and unfortunately, unlike the gracile little Dryo, spends the next ten thousand years recovering its stamina. 16minutes... if you do so standing.

Dryo defintely recover stamina great, no question, there. :)

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hLJH08SrNa-eKVClVX1XzaA4XP2VrG7RXi_LiGO_GiM/edit?usp=sharing I have been making a google spreadsheet with this sort of stuff on it that could be usefull to you. Keep in mind it is still a work in progress so some parts are not explained very well but for the most part it should be accurate because im testing most the numbers in game

WOW thanks guys that was some nice info you all gave there...will keep it all in mind for sure & Lesstalkmorelive while you certainly don't have to, but if you DO do a stamina recovery test I'd be interested in reading it.

It's good that you're testing things in-game. I ran the para, and dryo together (with the help of my awesome wife), and we found that a dryo has 1 second more run time of stamina, and that second may have been the result of unsync off the start. So be mindful if you're just pulling numbers off the net for some of the findings. :)

@OP: There are a lot of things that play into stamina usage that haven't been mentioned here.

Such as:

- The speed of a hunter in comparison to prey.

- Ambushing.

- Jumping, for those who can. Right off the bat here, I can tell you that jumping eats a lot of stamina, so don't expect to have enough jump stamina left to jump safety w/ a utah if you have a long distance to the box, or rock, and might need 2-3 jumps to get up there.

Galli and pachy don't really have a jump that will get them out of trouble, like a utah has. However, galli and pachy can fall a greater distance than other non-jumping dinosaurs and not break a leg. I suspect the pachy can fall a greater distance than a galli, but probably not as far as a utah. I've never tested this, but you certainly can, if you want too. :)

- Special moves like a para's kick, and a trike's stomp. A good reason not to burn stamina running when you absolutely don't need too. The same can be said of any dinosaur, but this is especially important for para and trike. A para is dependent on their special attacks landing when facing allo, carno, and cerato.

Trikes need their stomp to face apex. Regular attacks work fine against lower tier dinosaurs like utah and dilo. Sub apex and sucho are the ones you should be careful with. As a para, you should still probably use your kick to end those fights sooner. As a trike, a regular attack will get it done, but you'll have to rest.

In short, these special moves do eat up stamina as well, so make sure you have the stamina!

It starts getting complicated to relay all of this information into a package that tells you how to handle "every" encounter. However, if you are just looking to form a strategy based on stamina use when running, and recovery (while trotting, standing, and resting) I can help you there, along with the players who have also contributed here.

Before I go ahead and test recovery, though, I need to confirm there are differences in all mentioned forms of recovery. That won't take long. :)

Barney: "Challenge accepted!" ...This test will take some time, so be patient with me. :)

In terms of stam recovery, Diablo is a juggernaut. Albert and Acro take years to regain stamina, (especially with Albert, since it has a lot more of it) even when sitting, so sprinting everywhere to get around is the biggest mistake you could possibly make with them two. Allo has decent stam heal but it takes years to get full just because of how much the damn thing has.

In terms of speed, Diablo is slower then Tyranno, but not by much. Allo is also slower then Tyranno, but barely (at most 0.2KM slower). If the Allo turns in the chase at all, it's dead, period, but if it just keeps on running straight it has a chance. Austro is faster then Carno (a lot of people seem to think it's slower, its not), but it runs out of stamina fast. Maia is faster then Utah by only a little, but the stamina relations ensures a Utahs death if being run down by a Maia. Galli is the fastest herbi and outright the best at running, having stamina for days, able to overpower Austro and Herra, and outjuke a Carno and ambushing Utah.
