That or people will be annoyed because they got chased off a cliff trying to avoid screamy mic bites a lot over there.
I mean, if you're a capable hunter with many options for food on your list already, you shouldn't need to resort to eating your own lol. The idea there is you hunt OTHERS, right? To keep that idea simple. When a player is able to eat their own kind (penalty or not) that becomes a grey area. An even more grey area when they can survive that way.
It makes more sense to me that the dinosaurs with fewer options for meals should be the cannibals. Makes sense, right? You're either a scaver that's super low on the food chain, or bc of the type of dino you are, you can only hunt few things in a certain way.
The deino is a horrible land hunter, so their options for eating on land are limited to stupid players, dead bodies, and stealth kills lol.
In the water, you're in your element, and hunting as you should be rly. When it's just fish and other deinos in there, cannibalism makes more sense. As the roster for water dinos grows, it should become less and less of a priority?
In other words, you'll then have more options for hunting like the land dinos do.
Sometimes players fall to their death (thanks map lol) or flyers get too close to the water when fishing etc. But ya. Those ARE the other options besides cannibalism being a stronger more reliable way of surviving for deinos.
When it comes to land dinos, they have a much bigger roster to hunt, which means more options, and less focus on cannibalism. If cannibalism is completely off the table for those dinos they'll be focusing on hunting other dinos for food.
The players who kill their own would be doing so for another reason besides food...
- They're there to enjoy PVP and nothing else. So ya, they kill everything that moves, or isn't on their friends list lol. Survival? PVP? Same thing, right? xD Big fans of those special survival games like Mortal Kombat lol. Ya, they can't tell the difference...
- Or, they are actually playing from a survivalist angle and fighting over/protecting food (that food NOT being their own kind). Evrima does want to promote food competition, so this isn't combating same species killing directly, but it should encourage less of it if the cannibalism option for non-cannibals isn't there at all.
With a clear black and white definition of cannibalism in the game, and the game actually backing this up with mechanics that do not confuse the issue, I think it would improve and become more popular.
The contagion would only be to SAME species. That's how cannibalism works. And You can only get it from eating your own kind. It has been implemented in other games and works perfectly well.
Well Spoken. Thank you.
As for Deino, they don't need to EAT each other. Just kill the competition and leave the body as a trap for land carnivores who want to try to get to it. Besides. If you kill the competition, more food(Fish) for you right? I honestly think this whole DIET idea is just bad news. It was fun to play with but FORCING us to have to eat three differing food types is a bit of overkill. It doesn't work that way in real life. Not in any sense of the word. VERY few animals on the plant actually require a varied diet. And NO carnivores do. Carnivores... Get ready for this... EAT EXCLUSIVELY MEAT. It doesn't matter where it comes from. Yeah, i get it. I have seen a dog eat a carrot too. But it doesn't change facts.
That's already in. So when you mentioned that I thought you meant that somebody who has the disease could become a biohazard to all members of the same species near them or bit by them.
“This just in, the new strain of Covid makes people delicious!”
I mean, it isn't going to stop people from killing you and just.. Not eating your body lmao.
