Why are Pachys always a-holes in evrima?
15% stego to a hyper aggressive pachy. But why?

I'm ptera main and hanging around spawn locations killing younglings after younglings is all I do. I have made a career out of it.

Well there's kinda.... nothing to do lol. It's an unfinished map, only a few dinos to play, and it's either sit in a bush (or water) for hours until grown, or go around hitting people because that's your only option for entertainment lol.
XD
Well basically yes, look at Deino. No fun to play if not full grown. If you are not 100% chances are you get eaten is very high. Also if you are grown, you have to eat so much food to eat the whole river XD. Yesterday i had like 5-6 deino's close to me thinking i was friendly. But i was 5-10% on food. So had to kill 2-3 of them. They went nuts. But it is what it is.

i'd much prefer to continue to cruise the river doing actual croc ambush kind of things when i get the chance. but again, because 99% of the action is at oasis, this leaves me munching big fish most of the time.

The only "realistic" way I can think to remedy this is to allow stagnant pond or swamp water to still sate some of your thirst, but give you significant debuffs for doing so. Thus giving incentive for seeking out running water such as in rivers.

Could have a underground cave network between rivers and ponds

I watched 3 pachys kill 1 solo adult teno, 2 juvy ptera, 2 Juvy Utah and a juvy pachy in a 10 minute span. Anything that walked in the area herbi or carni they killed for no reason. My soul purpose with my adult stego will to kill any adult pachys I see. And why other Dino I am ill kill their children.

Sounds like the Pachy's were purging Cuddle Rock of Mixpackers, which is always justified. I'm assuming they were mixpacking because a span of 10 minutes meant these herbivores and carnivores had to be close to one another and I'm assuming it was at Cuddle Rock because Mixpackers love to go there or the Dam.

Pachy was always my main in legacy. ( look at my avatar ) Kinda funny looking, cute, rarely played and most people in herd usualy were like " awww look it's Pachy ". Basicaly useless dino that most players liked. I got ton of stories over the years where carnivore players didn't killed me becouse they felt bad for me playing Pachy lol.

Excluding jumping, legacy Pachy is literaly worst Maia ( stats wise ), in every single aspect including speed and even growth time. Not to mention weight etc. So in legacy there was no reason to play Pachy for PvP at all. Just pick Maiasaura.

But in Evrima ? Pachy is like a satan servant played by crazy people who love seeing people ragdoll on the ground. It's so ironic lol. hope they nerf Pachy so it's more of a special dinosaur with cool ability, and not something used by PvP'ers to troll people.

My favorite Legacy dinosaur and now I hate it.

So you liked a dinosaur because it was useless? No dinosaur should be useless even if it's not a PvP dinosaur. Pachy is only powerful now because we don't have the really big carnivores yet. But at least it will have a defense when they come. Carnos and Utaraptors can kill pachys if they know what they are doing. There really aren't any pure walking dinner herbivores anymore (yes, Hypsi included. They fast and make you work for it that way) and honistly that's a good thing. Most real carnivores loose a lot of hunts because herbivores are almost always either fast or dangerous or they have some other trick to deal with.

^Well ya, legacy's official play was VERY different than evrima's current official play. That much is painfully obvious lol. When they dropped the idea of official admins, but didn't replace what they did with mechanics? Ya, evrima officials turned into a no rules free for all server. Or, in terms of legacy, a no rules player server lol. Just mindless PVP without any structure to the game play at all.

So, officials will attract those no rules players. The PVPers there just to go round killing everything, and the mixing/over grouping isn't making that any better haha.

There were definite differences between a legacy no rules server, and a legacy official server. The legacy officials actually tried to structure the game play some, but player free agency was still very much alive there. Unlike some of the more hardcore RP servers with rules longer than most of my posts here (lol). Not much for player free agency in those situations, nope, but that also had it's own following all the same. Still, I would have preferred the hardcore setup to a completely structure-less, and meaningless PVP setup, and that's all there was to that game play on those player servers.

Evrima's official play resembles a no rules legacy server lol. That mess is something that only appeals to some of the community, but definitely not all of it.

The official play is something the devs need to take a stand on in a certain way. It's not my place to say what that would be. Everyone has equal claim there, and it's not fair to say that one pref is better than another. But, they gotta choose one and not try to make everyone happy on officials, bc that will never happen haha. Simply bc the play styles don't overlap well enough or often enough. It's straight up oil and water lol.

The players are a-holes, not the pachy's. When a player goes on a pachy killing rampage, they become a new problem of a different sort. Those same pachy players are a-holes on all the dinosaurs they play. Trust me.

Evrima is pretty much kill or be killed, and that goes for herbivores vs herbivores too, don't forget they're also competing with each other for resources. For example: Your Pachy needs to eat that agave plant because it's starving (and it's good for Pachys' diet!), yet a little Tenonto is walking up to it because it also wants to eat the same agave.

Now, are you going to let the little Tenonto eat your dinner and then risk not running into any other agave plants, wasting an opportunity to improve your diet, just for the sole purpose of being nice? OR, are you going to give that little Teno a vibe-check to the skull and take what's yours in order to better your diet, and stats by proxy? In a situation where every little decision effects your survival rate, morals are only going to get in the way.

I hear you saying 'Well I wasn't eating any Pachy diet plants and they still killed me!' Maybe not, but they still consider you competition and a risk to their resources, which is still a valid reason for wanting you gone. ...Or they just think the sound of your bones crunching under the force of their thick dome is funny. It could be either.

Pretty sure Herb players that kill baby Teno's aren't really concerned about a perfect diet, a nice player defiantly wouldn't care either as the game becomes so much more interesting for them when they have friends and a herd

I'm generally the nicer player (not every time ;)), and try to help others if i can, even after being killed by other herbs/preds I don't get mad and it doesn't stop me from playing nice, but don't get me wrong if you want to KOS, that's your game, have fun with it, you may miss out on deeper interactions with others, but some people don't care and just want to kill, all good, makes the ecosystem exciting

This YouTuber (Mombie) is the classic nice guy, always willing in to be nice in any first interaction, he dies a lot but he stays true, real gentleman :)
