Can Deinos currently live in saltwater? Should they ( be able too) if not?

I know crocs today have special glands on their tongue that allow them to live in both. I was wondering if this is possible in the Isle, or is planned to be. If so, do fish spawn in the ocean,I heard originally elite fish were supposed to be mainly in the ocean anyways!

At the moment Deino can regain water while swimming in the ocean despite not being able to drink from it outside of the water. However, there are currently no fish out there, so even if you don't need to drink you still need to go back to the river to eat. It's already been mentioned on the Discord that beaches will eventually get updated, which will most likely alter Deino interact with the ocean.

I can confirm, as of yesterday, that you do not regain water while swimming in the ocean. RIP

I can confirm, as of yesterday, that you do not regain water while swimming in the ocean. RIP

This may have changed when the update went live as during the stress test I could regain water in the ocean.

It's like an pre-alpha version of an alligator.

we should be able to drink from the run off of the river i went out there to eat some sea turtles couldent drink hand had to haul straight back to water trying to find my way around a massive cliff made it back with 5-1% health left.... the ocean/beaches are useless with that massive cliff and nothing to drink for miles

i'm pretty sure , at least 1 croc or gator-species can survive 'salt-water'....maybe not entirely but they do live near it and swim in it ;-)

No. You can't regain water by swimming in the ocean. HOWEVER. The beach with all the really cool looking rock formations does contain a puddle of fresh water. I happen to have a save with a dieno there just for funsys. It's hard to get to as a dieno. But it's fun to confuse the pteranodons just by being there.

You know what just hit me? They're going to have earnable perks right? What if one of them could be adaptation to salt water for a few of the normally freshwater things?
