Raptor pounce
From using mainly raptor all the time there's surprisingly only 1 thing i think is just ridiculous, the animation you're stuck in when you miss a pounce.

Don't get me wrong, i know the pounce is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ strong so it punishes people who miss. But the time it keeps you froze in place when you get thrown off is honestly so stupid, it's way too long.

For example, i was just fighting a stego solo just slowly getting him down when i messed up and got caught on a tree falling off my pounce. Luckily i fell out of distance of his tail swing so he couldn't hit me, but this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ animation made me stand there long enough for him to turn his fat ass around, waddle over in range and get another tail swing in before i was even on my feet. Who the ♥♥♥♥ in the dev team tested this feature and thought it was suitable to make us stand there with our ♥♥♥♥♥ in our hands for 15 seconds?

Am i the only one who thinks this? (You raptor haters dont get a say)

Knew i'd have to make the edit to say i dont give a ♥♥♥♥ about your opinion on me trying to solo a stego, i've done it before and will continue to do so.

Well your first mistake was fighting a Stegosaurus alone as a raptor. While it can be done, that's not how it's intended to work. That's why you have a pack, to draw fire and help you kill it before it can drop you.

Knew someone was going to say this.

Did i complain about not being able to solo a stego or did i ask for others opinion on the animation length?

It's 500 kilograms worth of animal being propelled in a direction at roughly 52 km/h, only to crash into a solid surface that does not yield to the force. I'd argue that the length of time is more than acceptable given these parameters.

Well the animation length does make a difference if you're in a pack, while you're down several others can distract, attack and pounce the stego, giving you that time to get back up.

^ this, OP. It's much less of a problem with a pack present. The anim length is short enough to prevent people from trying to solo it. Long enough so that a pack can mitigate it and it usually won't end with you dying with other raptors around to take the heat off you.

The animation is not to long. Just tell me why you think that you should be able to survive this mistake at all?

I get what you're saying about the pack but i think the animations are different.

I'm talking strictly about the one when you're already on a dino ripping him and he knocks you on a tree, that animation is legit like 10 seconds and if the dino is the slightest bit smart, he'll target you straight away.

I just feel like with a raptors health, 10 seconds is more than enough time for any of the dinos to rush and kill you.

Niceeee because i'm running in a straight line and pouncing onto a rock.

Because there's situations where it's not even a mistake you made that made you fall. The pounce mechanic doesn't work that smoothly imo and the hitboxes are weird, sometimes the pounce just doesnt register or i get put onto a part of the body i was nowhere near

Thats just normal lag issues and that is the risk you take all the time, when you play a glass canon.

What you should really be complaining about is how often you miss your pounce when you clearly should have connected. I lost count of how many times I've tried to pounce a Stego only to go completely through it's body, land on the other side and get 1 hit killed by it's tail.

This needs to be fixed. How is it possible that I pounce a Stego on the face and my Utah magically flies through it's entire body without connecting?

This is my complaint right here. Missing pounces that on your screen landed dead on. Or being on a pounced target and having another raptor pounce from the other side and somehow he magically pounces you instead, throwing you both to the ground usually resulting in one of you being killed. Pounce, while incredibly fun to use, is almost a coin flip on if it's going to work right or not, especially when the servers are at the end of a long day and are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ their pants non stop.

Age old problem with any sort of aiming game when lag/ping is involved. You win some and you loose some. Private servers could mitigate it with say, over 100 ping and kick feature. Or maybe standard if the player base is high enough. We will see what happens in future.

This happens with everything tbh, on the QA server I've used the alt+bite to defend myself as a Deinosuchus and somehow managed to "miss" bites where my jaws literally close around the head of a raptor or the leg of a carno and I've also had "hits" where I have landed the bite 5-9 feet away from whatever is attacking me and I somehow land a hit on their head a cleave off 500 of their hitpoints. Then, sometimes it just works and hits when it should and misses when it should.
