Directional Compass?
Are they bringing this back? And if so when? The wavy lines still show for scent view in Evrima but unlike Legacy it lacks the directional compass.

Not sure what you mean, but in legacy they had a N,W,E or S to show the direction you are facing.

The line that points up is north and the line that points down is south. It's pretty easy to understand the compass without the letters.

when you use your smell (Q) you get a light blueish electric line at the top of ur hud.. it has a V (south) and a Λ (north) so you can get a rough idea of the heading

I want to see the clock time back in the profile so that you know how long the night will be.

That doesn't actually show compass direction...just tried it in game

~~~~~^~~~~~ is North.
~~~~~v~~~~~ is South.

East and West can be surmised from this information easily. If you're facing north, which direction is west, Beebee73? If you said to the left, you're absolutely correct. You are also correct in saying that you need to know where north and south is using the current compass to know where west and eat is, as well. Not as telly as the old system, but it works.

Ok will give it another go...tried it earlier as a test with the vulnoa map...but using the north/south of the 'compass' I wasn't heading in the direction I wanted.

If you're looking north, or with the ^ symbol at the centre of the wavy line, and the map doesn't show northwards progress, then the map isn't working correctly. I heard word that vul's map wasn't up to snuff yet.

To test this in-game, you could choose the north spawn area, and see if you hit the beach going north.

Ahh ok thanks! Will use that to test then rather than the map. To be clear, especially as I'm VERY directionally challenged lol, the ^ should be in the CENTER of the wavy line in order to be heading north?

No I meant does the ^ need to be CENTERED on the line. Besides using a possibly outdated map when I was testing I may not have had it in exact center of line the whole time which could have ALSO caused me to veer off course a bit.

Easiest way to learn your location and where you want to go is by identifying the mountain formations. The Radio Tower can be seen from virtually any traversable range, so identifying the mountain it’s on is enough of an indicator for understanding your general location. From there, can you see the double spires beyond the forcefield? Is the ocean visible? What’s the land look like around the nearest river? When the water in the rivers flows a designated direction that will be another means to identify your location.

For those unfamiliar the Ptera is an excellent tool to learn the mountains with.

Yup, centred! :) Just like in legacy you centred the N, W, E and S letters.

Thanks will give it another test shot with something other than the online map. As was stated earlier my test may have been off by an outdated map and will be sure the points are centered exactly too to be sure of my direction!

Thanks again!
