Breaking legs
Is it just me or when I fall 1 foot I break my leg. :/ Can you please make it like more realistic lol.

so if i weigh 200 pounds as an adult, and fall lets say 3 feet. I would break my legs :/
so 2000 pounts and a fall of 2 feet would BREAk an entire leg. like bruh are you hearing yourself. If a fat person (no shaming anyone) dropped 2 feet would he break his legs, and Ik mmost of his weight would be fat and do ntohing, but a dinsoaur has muscles and it should atleast be more resistant. and as a trex i died from a 4 foot drop. like bruh. you die from that.

It all depends on how you arrive at the ground. If you're set up for a landing small heights are no big deal. If you're not and arrive at an angle something might snap. People have died falling much smaller heights than 2 feet.

Now drop nearly 6 tons (ingame Rex weight) from 4 feet. It will make quite the bang. Trex may have been able to survive it unscathed if it was set up to land on its feet and cushioning the forces with appropriate countermovements. Though it would absolutely break something or perhaps even die in an unexpected fall, given that bones, joints, muscles and center of mass would likely not be aligned properly.

Now it is not just about realism. Being susceptible to such environmental hazards is a tradeoff for your size that otherwise gives you a massive advantage in fights.

Everyone gets your message, though. Its not fun to sit around with a broken leg. Its not a bad thing to punish careless play imho. But often you are simply unlucky. There's definetely room for improvement to make it less of a chore

Acceleration due to gravity is -9.8 m/s^2, or about -32.14 ft/s^2. Integrating twice to get the equation for distance, we get (-16.072 * t^2 + 4) ft, which is the behavior of our system with the constraints of 4 feet and no downward velocity at time t = 0. The time at which it takes to fall 4 feet is about half a second, rounding up. The speed at which you're falling at t = 0.5 s is 16.07 ft/s. Now, once you reach the ground, your velocity near-instantly goes from 16.07 ft/s to 0. To define this, we'll use the impulse equation of F = m*dv/dt, where dv is the change in velocity and dt is the change in time over which dv occurs. Let's call dt 1/60 of a second, about a frame, since we're working with a video game here. dv/dt, then, is equal to 964.2 m/s^2.

Now factor in the mass of the creature in question; a Rex weighs roughly 8900 kilograms, so the final force is 8900 kg * 964.2 m/s^2, or about 8,581,380 newtons. Assuming the bone in question bearing the brunt of this force is a cylinder with a radius of ~0.102 meters, the area of the bone would be 0.0327 m^2. The stress on the bone would then be 8,581,380 / 0.0327 = 262546913.8 pascals, or 262.55 megapascals. The yield strength of a Rex's bones has been determined to be only about 200 megapascals, at least for Stan. That bone's gonna snap from the height you gave.

TL;DR the math and physics state that your Rex is lucky to be limping after that 4-foot drop you put it through and not just a crumpled heap of pain on the ground.

Fat people don't weigh 2k pounds (that's effectively a ton, a human would sooner die from the weight alone-forget standing up).

You're looking at +200 for just big dude and +300 for real obesity.

For actual physics, let's convert pounds to kilograms. 1 pound is .454 kilograms. 2 pounds is .908 kilograms. 2000 pounds is 908 kilograms. Now we'll factor in gravitational acceleration (using earth's gravity) which is 9.8 meters per second square. Simple multiplication and our answer if 8,898.4 newtons of force.

This is not even considering the Sudden Stop that would come from falling, this is just what it takes a 2k pounds creature to stand. Falling at a short height will lower the force because you won't reach the full acceleration, but, even at 2 feet, you're still going to enjoy +5k joules of energy shattering your leg.

Edit: This is just the human comparison, the Rex is far worse even at the similar height drop. Reread Shot'em for clarity on why.

mhm i remember being a rex and falling 4 feet and dying. So basically I hit my legs, and my heart stops pounding. :/

Not quite. It's closer more to "you fell 4 feet and then crumpled into a pile of agony before finally kicking the bucket" plus a metric ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of internal bleeding caused by the main portion of the body falling an additional 5 feet or so as a result of your legs giving out from under you, likely shattering ribs and heavily damaging internal organs.
So that causes immediate death.
What you just described sounds like a slow death possiblly taking up to 5 minutes.

Would you rather wait the five minutes for an assured death?
So you're a medical professional, and know how all of this works or are you just guessing. If you cans how me proof if this exists then I may believe you, but death. No. I would say you just broke your legs, not be internally bleeding, your organs smashed together, your heart slowly dying. From 4 feet bruh.

Again, the first 4 feet break your legs and cause you to fall over because you can't support your weight on them, and you have no balance as a bipedal suspension bridge. Then, the rest of your body falls the length of your legs. Rexes have some fairly long legs; I'm gonna lowball it at 5 feet or so. You'll be falling faster than beforehand, which will make the total force of impact greater. The surface area of impact (your stomach) is a fair bit greater, though the diameter of the ribs certainly aren't. It's extremely likely that your ribs will shatter upon impact with the ground, and when ribs break they tend to turn into sharp fragments that make mincemeat out of your organs. Especially when you've fallen on them. This is hardly medical information as much as it is physics.
you hit your legs. since when did you fall on you're stomach. I'm talking about the game not irl.
