Anyway as a carnivore you want to scavange untill you are big enough to hunt.. Stay low and whenever you need to rest or stay in the proximity of a body try to wallow if possible. Don't trust anyone. In my experience people will attack you for no reason. Even if its the same species and there is plenty of food around. They just want to click that mousebutton. This even happened to me when I played stego.
As a herbi surviving is easy, stay away from the big center swamp and graze if your hunger bar is near empty. And wallow also applies here whenever you go for a drink.
With current Ai activity like it is, they may as well not be there at all, tbh lol. People are having trouble cuz there's to much foliage messing up too many hunts lol. That and the increased hunger. The increased hunger also makes scaving a lot harder. Not too many players are going to leave bodies behind with food being as scarce as it is now.
If they reduced hunger needs, it would help with the scaving I think. Overeating isn't a good thing lol. So, they'd end up leaving more bodies behind. But, even so, if their smart, they'll use bodies as bait. That becomes easier. :P Right now, it's hard to leave food bait unless you mass kill.
Additionally, dryo players are spotted and mistaken for AI Im sure lol. Actual sightings may not be accurate cuz of this? It was an error to make AI the same as playables...It's just too hard to tell how players feel about the amount of Ai present w/ the confusion lol.
If it's something NOT on the list of playables, you KNOW it's an AI lol. Adjusting a dinos looks in the character creation for dryos wouldnt work neither. Ppl would still be masquerading as them. There's no good reason for this lol.
One solution might be to make it so players could play dryo, but there's no way to come close to the look of ai. A special pattern or something even? They gotta be smarter about this lol.
Not to mention the game SHOULD be hard if you ask me
Seems like some players have become a little bit "soft" after the long legacy AI spoon-feeding
That or they've never experienced TI in the old V3 days
Also general survival tips are to frequently sniff in search of food and footprints, approach corpses carefully as danger may lay near, use sounds in order to identify the locations of other players and to chase them in the forest if you lost sight of them, stick to the shrubbery as a juvie, as a juvie hunt what you can and don't what you cant and learn the map, and no I don't mean have the map open on another tab all the time I mean have a mental map in your head, once you learn the map your life will get much easier.
1 chief reason to keep AI unique, or unique looking at least? Is the fact that players can't tell them apart, and trying to figure out if AI work for players or not is confusing cuz of this lol. I think they need to rethink that. Sightings aren't even dependable information right now. You don't think players will get kicks from acting like AI? xD
I mean I get your point of being able to verify whether AI is like spawning and working and stuff but servers admins along with QA and devs have tools which let them know how many AI are active at each point on the server and for all we know AI is there from admins/QA and players alike there is verification of that, I've seen and ate plenty of them too and you are able to verify that its AI just by observing its behavior which I know you said players can act like AI but the thing is that AI can move in ways players cant along with not bleeding and that's all the verification I need.
As long as the difficulty isn't the product of bugs or impossibly hard, I'm fine with it.
