Huh?! I'm not upset at all? Where did I ever say I was upset?
I'm just saying there are MANY that would benefit from an in game map and its not like it will hurt anyone to have it.
Oh sorry....I use caps to stress points nit to holler or anything...my apologies if seemed harsh or accusatory...honestly was NOT my intent. 😀
In any case whenever map is implemented developers will implement as THEY see fit.
Just as am honestly surprised at the negativity of some whenever someone such as myself suggestions maps for all factions because
1) third party maps do show that there is a need/want of a map
2) the presence of any map (third party OR in game doesn't hurt or impede those that don't use...only helps those that do make use of it.
Soo...have made my point and am willing to let the issue lie as is and again my apologies if upset anyone as honestly didn't mean to come across harshly or accusatory.
Night all REALLY REALLY tired today lol 💤💤💤💤💤
but back to map
i'm going to admit that maps are useful and more then likely will be appreciated by over half the playerbase simply basing it an my own experiance
i needed a map to navigate V3 and i needed it for atleast 6 months before i started to memorize the landscape and then i never touched it again
so those that can find their way without one aren't really being negativly impacted by those of us that need a helping hand with Spiro's claustraphobiotic-foilage-face-slapping-simulator that is it's map XD
and as a map will be bound to the M key, it shouldn't really be a bother to those that don't want to use it; just don't push the button *shrugs*
but i do like the idea of a map that unlocks as you move about, it'd promote exploration more XD
My opinion is that players don't need a map. The entire history of The Isle is my evidence, as people eventually learn the Map and having a visual aid is just a convenience. You can have your opinions against that.
Pay attention to this next quote because it's coming from your earlier comment:
All of this is you stating Your Opinion As Fact.
And you don't either.
Same reason I think AI shouldn't replace the playerbase so that carni players never have to kill anybody: too convenient. You should learn to play the game via being invested in the game, watching the environment and reacting to it. Information about your playable, other playables, and the environment should come to you as second hand information. Something you have the potential to remember and forget, and not made easier to retain just because you have a side map. The problem, is that you aren't learning. You're not learning, because you're not putting forth the effort. If you were, you would've figured out how to use your GPS which basically functions like a limited map system...so seeing as that is already in game, what's the problem?
That goes both ways. Not an Excuse To Not. Not an Excuse To Do.
Me pointing out that we're an animal game is me using The Isle's natural theme, which is that you-the player-are a piece of the ecosystem. You are lost, and only by adapting will you stop being lost.
Don't forget humans will be in the game too and they wont have scent, night vision, a built in compass and a way to defend themselves, all they will have is a map and I think this really goes to show how entitled some of the dinosaur players are (even though humans are not even in the game yet).
You are given the ability to sniff food and water from far away, a built in compass and (in the future) nightvision, the very least you can do is use your eyes and memory to navigate the map instead of being given free navigation too, just learn the map people, many people in this thread have already shown its possible and even without a map you can smell water and food from far away giving you your basic needs, sure a map would help making it easier but you'll just form your own mental map eventually and then it will be that much easier.
