The Isle

How many are playing other dinosaur games?
I haven't touched the Isle since April 2019 and since everything I have seen of the 'recode' doesn't really seem revolutionary it seems I still have a wait to return BUT I am curious if, like myself, you have played other dinosaur games whilst waiting (no names required)

Some of the dinos look like they're made out of play-doh, but it's not nearly as bad as BoB. The Isle still has the best aesthetics, but the PoT map is visually beautiful. If they can refine the dino models and animation, it would be the clear winner.

Beasts of Bermuda is growing slowly, but certainly growing.

They just implemented Oryctodromeus which is basically "dinosaur minecraft" and genuinely a good addition to the game.

Oryctodromeus is something that anyone playing The Isle would kill for.
It's an animal that DOES NOT just need to wait, eat, drink, and do nothing while growing. Definitely my pick for best designed animal in the entire "Dinosaur survival" genre.

It can build big and vast tunnel networks, I really hope that other playables in Beasts of Bermuda get this similar type of treatment, or just have the game be much more interactive for them.

I would recommend Path of Titans right off the bat. It's a little boring right now if you don't have anyone to play with but it's very good looking and it's got a growing number of playable dinos. It's also going to get very cool mechanics in the future. It's worth looking into.

As for Beasts of Bermuda, it's a buggy, unpolished game from my experience. But the thing that seems to interest a lot of people are the gameplay mechanics and skill tree. I don't think it's very beginner friendly but look into it and see what you think.

Primal Carnage Extinction is a very fun game. It's a humans v dino game. It's got different modes, skins, mutations, and it gets updates every now and again. It should be getting a new dino at the end of August. Check out their dev blog if you wanna know more :D

Saurian is the last game I would recommend. I think the devs have been working on things to add for a while but there hasn't been an update. I think it's just single player and you can play as a dakota raptor from hatchling to adult.

Primal Carnage, I knew i was forgot one..

I play beasts of Bermuda and path of titans, they are both fun in their own way but they are no isle and I always find my self coming back to play the Isle after I get off the other games.

I thought about BoB, but everytime I see an all bright pink dinosaur, I feel too old to play it lol. Great mechanics, though. I'm not sure about PoT, but it has promise? I thought about Primal Carnage, but I'd burn out on that easily.

I checked out Wolf Quest (not a dinosaur game, I know) but does have a good combat system. It has a turning game, plus a bite/grapple mechanic that depicts RL hunting fairly well. Something The Isle should be paying attention too, IMO. Instead of just trying to rip off old mechanics like pouncing, and latching -which aren't going well thus far, but who knows.

I felt that way until i started playing and now I can easily look passed the sub par graphics and cartoony feel. the mechanics are super fun, I love it. I just wish that it was a little more challenging to find food. But overall its probably the most enjoyable animal Sim ive played. Wolf quest can be really fun too, but atm theres just not a whole lot to do. Once they add multiplayer and slough creek Im sure it will be more enjoyable tho.

yes ive been having so much fun with their ory! I wish BoB didnt get ♥♥♥♥ on so much, but it can be kinda ugly looking at times, so I get it. But the gameplay is way more important imo. Ive never felt motivated to really grow a dino in the isle because I knew once I did there was really no end game goals to play towards besides just fighting as many ppl as i can until I die or nest a bunch but thats boring and just like growing. I love that BoB offers a lot more variety in gameplay options with the different mechanics for different species and the whole comfort, talent, and constant growth system gives you something to work towards after you mature.

BoB
PCE
JWE

PK and PP are the only other two dino games in development that I find worthy. The rest don't interest me at all for various reasons.

Just temporary of course.

Is PK prehistoric park? Also what is PP?

I think PK is prehistoric kingdom, a park-builder game similar to JWE but with more critters and a lack of emphasis on Jurassic Park assets. Not sure what PP is though.

I just picked up PoT like 2 days ago. It's got potential, but right now it has even less to do than legacy TI.
But more then evrima :bigjohn:
