How do you find food in this game?

Just got the game, been running around for an hour and the only time I got anything to eat is a random corpse I found laying around. How do find food as a carnivore?

Listen for AI, some people might mistake them for ambience. Velociraptors, avaceratops, oros, and pssita-im not even going to attempt to spell it. You can hop on a sandbox server and see how those dinosaurs sound themselves so you know what to listen for. They'll probably be your main food source as a juvenile or small carnivore. You can also hold Q which highlights water sources and gore if its around.

To help out with the comment above, every dinosaur has different sounds. There's 5 calls in total, Broadcast, Friendly, Threaten, Danger, and the Basic Call. It's best to go into a small deathmatch server and learn what all the calls are, Survival dinosaur or not. That way you can assess any situation you're given and decide whether or not you should investigate or run the other way. The sound differs from range too. The main tools to use while hunting is scent and hearing; listen for any calls from possible prey items while sniffing out footprints and bodies of water where people may gather.

Ai are Artificial Intelligence (like BOTs for you to hunt) track them by listening to their call and then kill them. They spawn randomly where there is carnivore around.

depending on the server and how many people are on it, AI will spawn for you when your dino is hungry [ thou some dinos can get food spawns when healthy]
listerning is always recommended and going to an empty DeathMacth or SandBox server and picking to play as oro, ava, velo and psiti can help with identifying sounds as they are what spawn for canros
thou do be aware that if your a carno juvi the AI velo can/will attack you, even if your bigger then it - there is also another AI carnivore that can randomly spawn that is as big as an ava that can reck you if your smaller then it [unfortunatly i've only encountered this AI twice and i can't identify which dino it is as it kills you quick! - no, it wasn't a player playing this dino as it's movement pattern was to robotic to be a player faking]
