Do like 90% of The Isle players use a gamma exploit?

I get into fights at night and some people make zero attempt to hide the fact that they see everything. Might as well just get rid of the pitch black night "feature" of the game because it just handicaps players who don't cheat.

TBH I feel like kind of an idiot not using it, since I seem to be one of the few people who isn't, and the players who do use it seem to use it with impunity.

Wall/Cham hacks is important in pvp, you can't se all (the shadows of the trees for example) like a black dino inside the bushes, but is the only way for survive.

The wall/cham hack is the fault of the game design, not players. In fact, the purpose of the game (survival by any means necessary) calls for it.

Its not even a *Hack* its basicly downloading a program from the internet on desktop, all computers/laptops have the feature :pfff:

OP is right, you either use wall/cham hack or you are at a disadvantage. And since is isn't even a real hack, there is no way to police it beyond making videos and submitting them to server admins.

Calm down snowflake. It's not a cheat. You would know this if you knew anything about computers. All you do is download the program and turn it on. This is NOT a cheat at all. It is a normal part of gaming for your PC/monitor. Literally ANYONE can do this if they are using a Windows PC.

Most private servers allow using wall/cham hacks because it is NOT a cheat and 99.9% of players are already using it.
If you don't use wall/cham hacks you are going to get destroyed in this game.

@Jimmy It is most certainly not a cheat, and in the current game is just part of what you have to deal with. Using wall/cham hacks is a part of every PC application that has a visual component. Now, I agree with you that if the devs want a pitch black night, then they should implement a way to stopwall/cham hacks. Ive already suggested if they want to eliminate that, the easiest solution is for players not to do it, so noone can see past a certain distance at night. I wouldnt have a problem if they did something like that.

Not on Officials. They used to but now they just don't care anymore seeing as it's uninforsable.

Ark didn't they legit added it to the console commands everyone can use.

You can even preconfigure 2 different gamma settings in the settings menu for maximum convenience.

The solution was, make gamma even more accessible so nobody is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it.

I don't get why they don't just brighten nights if everyone uses the CC to make it bright anyway when unlike The Isle there are no playstyles that rely on others being blind like the Dilo. I don't want to get too offtopic but Ark is just bizarre, one of the lowest quality games i've ever played yet it's still fun and is a massive success. I guess when an idea is just so good it doesn't matter how crap the execution is.

I think you're right, the bar is very low to have fun in a game with Ark's concept. When you think about Ark nearly every facet of the game is poor or just terrible. Character models, animations, UI, combat, balancing and optimization are all bad. Nevermind the one thing everyone plays it for the dinosaur riding is also crap, most of the creatures control like broken trucks with slow and clumsy controls. Yet despite all this the game is a huge success, mind boggling. It is a prime example that a game doesn't have to be good to be fun.

Notr sure if you knew, but Ark was the game devs first ever game. They tried to make a second game in 2018 called Atlas, basically a multiplayer pirate game like Sea of Thieves. It was considered garbage, ignored, and Wildcard went back to making Ark DLCs. Thing is, though, Atlas wasn't really worse then Ark.

Dinosaur riding is worse in more ways then just control. Balance isn't just bad, it literally doesn't exist. If you have a Giga, you win. What are you fighting? Unless it's a better levelled Giga or a titan, doesn't matter. You ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ win. Skill at riding dinosaurs doesn't exist, you just mash forward and attack. If your dinosaur is stronger, you win. But, it's the only game that made it out of early access that lets you ride dinosaurs, and so it's popular.

Ark just isn't a good game, but it can be enjoyable. You just have to put some effort in.

Yeah, Ark is one of those games that I find much more enjoyable PvE. Usually just play on a friend's server, and when we do want to PvP, bases are off limits. Armies meet on the battlefield for glory! Nothing quite like having an army of like 100 dodos attacking someones single tame....and loosing lol

Those of you using wallhacks are actually cheating. You're downloading a third party software and using it to cheat. Gamma is NOT a cheat. It is a standard function of Windows. Every single player on this game has the same function on their PC.

A standard function devs did not intend to be used throughout the night cycle. Just because everyone has access doesn't mean you have to use it, and it does not mean it is good.
