Suicide button for EVRIMA testing
It'd be awesome if there was just a suicide button so you can switch dinos or just get unstuck from places. I love the graphics and the animations though, so I'm really excited, but most of the time I get stuck in little nooks and crannies or I simply want to switch between being a Teno or a Utah depending on what the server needs to balance out a bit. Starving to death takes a long time now, and it's really hard to switch from Herb to Carn, and a suicide button might help.

it does not exist now and (I believe) in future updates of the game -- because too many players would abuse it -- spawning and dying just to feed other members of their pack or even themselves ....

that would defeat the survival aspect of the game.....

this isn't a survival game, its a deathmatch game and this only applies to Utahraptor with its food.

there isn't a point to surviving if its all in vain for nothing. A suicide button would be good to help in testing if a person wants to get out of a bugged part and is stuck and doesn't just want to starve to death.

I would just like it for testing, plus it doesn't have to leave a corpse. However then it would be used to refuse food to raptors. Either way Raptors are often consuming their young and cannibals are rampant on the bigger servers.

On top of which, right now EVRIMA is very bare bones, and needs this kind of testing by players. A button to restart or suicide or something, may enable more people to want to test, while also promoting trying out different dinos as they are released. While this is an awesome beta, it's far from immersive anyway, and I'd rather be able to get unstuck out of the water or a chasm or a rock face, than worry about feeding some desperate raptors who will get stuck trying to eat me anyay.

When the recode is further along, it can and should be removed.

I'd agree on the suicide option. Say you start as a baby raptor, move a few seconds and are stuck in a hole. You then wait a hour and a half to starve out (i timed it on evrima launch), and seeing as the corpse is down a hole anyway you're still not feeding the other raptors. Sure someone might abuse a suicide option for such cases, but that can be worked around. Simply make it like the classic branch logout option, you sit on menu for a minute and then the suicide option leaves no body behind. Your stuck dino is now dead without you having to sit for a hour and a half, those who would abuse it cannot (because it deletes the dino body like a slay command) to feed their pack. Problem solved and people can switch dinos around if they want to.

"It was abused"
"It would defeat the survival aspect"

You're not wrong but who cares when there's not even a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ logout timer.

Better yet fix the holes, and use a "/unstick" command for the rest

100% agree, and 100% that excactly this abuse would happen way too often. Better focus on stable gameplay and fix the holes or other stuck errors.

well how about this:
if someone uses /suicide he is killed but there wont be a corpse. corpse only spawns if a player starves anturally or is killed by another player.

CONS

1. Pressing a button to die instantly w/o leaving a corpse id food denial. Something the developers are trying to avoid. The update will give them a second chance at doing this.

2. Pressing a button to die instantly even with a corpse left behind gets abused as others have pointed out. Salty players who hate losing their dinosaur. Especially apex. Imagine encountering an apex with your pack and getting excited at the prospect of the fight, as many do, and then the apex just drops dead.

Or, a juvenile player drops dead at the sight of an adult player. No killing blows, just salty players. This would happen in place of a combat log. Less apex, sure, but this is something way to convenient, and yes players will abuse it way too often with any dinosaur.

3. Getting stuck. I agree an /unstuck command is favourable here. There's no exploiting this with a good map, and with a good map there's no getting stuck in the first place. 100% agreed here. Leaving a body in this stuck place also invites other players to get stuck too when trying to eat them, maybe.

4. In a multiplayer setting, a suicide button has it's place. Not in survival mode, but in sandbox mode. It does exist there already. It's called restart, I believe. The developers understood that sandbox mode isn't a serious place to play. It's where you mess around, and treating it otherwise is folly. Death match severs are also a good place for this. A SP setup is also a good place, because it's just you, and hitting a suicide button effects only your enjoyment of the game, and not the enjoyment others.

So, know that sandbox mode is just that. People make more of it than it is, and even exploit it for financial gain. So, I vote no on the suicide button for survival mode, or any "main" mode they come up with in the update.

How about an unstuck command? IDK like other games. Have the unstuck command on a 1 minute timer just like sleeping, and transport the player to "flat" ground.

Bruh you could've easily made your own thread instead of necroposting another one.
