My thoughts on Evrima.
After going through the forums and reading what people have said on Discord, it is clear that people are very conflicted about the update. People seem to have either over-hyped Evrima or never got excited for it to begin with. I know many people though, who like me are excited for the update. Even though it will be bare-bones, only having two dinosaur's will add an interesting dynamic to the game. A new map and all the new features Dondi and his crew have worked so hard on will make the game more polished. In the long run this will be better for the game. And this bare-bones state will not be there for long anyway, new dino's will be added in the near future i'm sure.

At the end of the day if you don't like Evrima you can always play the legacy version. This is a wonderful unique game, we should be looking forward to the new chapter in it. The way i see it is that by implementing Dino's gradually we get plenty of time to play with the ones available and get used to the new map. This also hopefully means the world will be more balanced as the dino's will have been meticulously crafted. The game is getting better and better. Sometimes you have to take a step or two backwards in order to make greater strides forwards.

There are great times ahead. Hope you all enjoy tomorrow!!!

It's fine to feel conflicted. This coming build is just the framework for things to come. A lot of stuff is ready to be implemented or close to it, but adding everything in at once would be disastrous (As anyone who has modded a game can attest to). What will likely happen is this will be released, they will track down the bugs that are only being found due to the general player's idiocy and outside thinking that their testers have not found. After that I can assume or hope it'll be like the days of old, where updates were a regular thing with things being added quite frequently.

I think all of us who have been here from launch knew this would be needed, watching any of the coding streams in the past was a mess. The game is starting off in a much better spot than legacy's release though in my opinion.

My main issue with this whole thing is that I cannot understand how the game looks like it does in the streams. Especially after one and a half years.

Perhaps a team of nearly 3000 individuals may have made more progress, like the team who made Red Dead Redemption 2.

The Isle may have 2980 less people working on the game. You never know...

This argument doesn't make ANY sense at all...

To be honest they should employ some of those mod authors that also do coding, make models and animations... Specially those nexus mod authors that work on adding stuff to bethesda games.

"Bethesda games" use a different engine. If they were to look into recruiting experienced modders, would it not make more sense to get modders with actual UDK experience?

EVIRMA, is going to take 6+ months minimal, before its even in a "playable" state of excitement, and worth while.

Right now, ALL of us are just excited to have a new map ,new features/mechanics....however.

I truly believe that they could have just implemented more time/effort on the current version (lets be honest, stating the engine is the problem, when the new version almost looks identical, is just not gonna fly lol....)

EVIRMA, personally, just looks underwhelming, and i get it, it has NO content etc.

But they should have pushed it back more, and implemented more dinos before releasing to the demands of moaning.

I kinda discovered that he was being sarcastic. RDR2 had a huge development team. Idk the reason to mention it, but eh.

actually this dude, MegaDave, has some absolutely dumb logical points.

yesterday i found him on the forums saying that pesky (lets not get into that here really) was responsible for the trolls attacking Bryan because he made the anky video. he was saying BS about how pesky shouldve shown the video to the devs first to clear it with them before posting it (something no one ever does, for any game basically ever) and was basically saying that you are responsible for others peoples actions if you provide them with info. (like if you told your coworkers you were excited that your neighbors are leaving for the weekend so you have some peace and quite and they went to their house and robbed them. in Megadave's eyes you would be responsible for that. like he actually said to that analogy that the person you told may have a history of committing misdemeanors and you would be at fault still because of it ).

so no, i dont think this dude is being sarcastic, i think he actually does not understand how society works. (like not to be mean but it really seems like he has special needs or something.)
