The most rain will likely do is make it a bit harder to hear heavy foot falls and see things due to rain visuals and thunderstorm noise- or make it easier for you to hunt depending on which side of the fence in this scenario you stand.
On The Isle though i agree it would be pretty annoying for dinosaurs do deal with that, for humans on the other hand i think it could be a nice feature. Imagine being forced to make a campfire so you don't freeze to death, then carnivores spot the light/smoke and the hunt is on :)
And hail probably wouldn't damage anything bigger than a taco really, unless it's absurdly large
also has anyone ever gotten hit by hail it would deal dmg to anythink smaller than cerato easily and also swimming while its raining (not any hardcore weather) is actually fun
I'd have to agree, I've seen quarter-sized hail crack windshields before so I think it would be safe to say dinos would take at least a little damage depending on their size.
I guess it depends on players. I've already been in that situation on Beasts of bermuda. Was a raptor and because it started raining. I had to find a cave to wait out the storm. You take damage in the rain. I guess Rain and their feathers weren't compatitble. But me and my sister waited it out, worried whether or not if the water would rise through the caves, forcing us out, or the fire that had just started by the lightning strikes would push us further in the cave. It added a more danger element to the game that i enjoyed. Which rn the isle sadly doesn't.
I'm hoping more mechanics for the isle are added soon. New dinosaurs can wait until later. I'm getting pretty tired of waiting for mechanics that were announced a year ago and still haven't arrived. Like Corpse carrying or dragging. I'm so close rn at modding the game to allow Parents to regurgitate food at their nests for your offspring to eat. So pressing a button will place a mesh of mushed up meat on the floor.
Then again, I have seen hail completely DESTROY things, even tough metal!
So, it has its pros and cons, and I think that it SHOULD be in the game, but the damage would be slight. I think anything Bary size and under should feel the damage, Bary would hardly feel it but say a Austro or Utah would feel it noticably and concernably.
So do it? That was pretty much the reason they made the big push for mods so early on. If someone does something they deem useful for the game, they might even pay that person to add their content to the regular version.
rn souretsu i'm working on getting Amphicoelias working in unreal engine first. Been itching for more sauropods, so i might make quite a few if, amphicoelias decides to be a success at adding it into the game. Then there's offspring version of them as well that needs doing. Unlike the dev team, It's 1 person working on this mod. I might get lucky enough for my sister to do some skins on her computer but that's about it. I'm doing the modelling, Rigging, Designing skins, Animating and then trying to code it into unreal for it to work. So sadly i don't have time to work on other game mechanics until i've sorted this one out.
