Once this update is out, new updates will also be coming out a lot faster, which means the devs will be able to develop the rest of the planned features in a timely and more polished fashion. So "slow development" won't be so for long.
We will also be able to see what they're actually working on through development streams, developer blogs and even a roadmap that will show us what is going on behind the scenes while we wait for new updates.
So, while it may not be "soon", we know that we are going to get humans, tribals and even strains eventually; and they will be done properly, without being rushed or bugged/broken.
Why only 2 dinosaurs? What will happen to all those already there?
I actually have no problem with this rate because you need to understand that each dinosaur that we will get will be feature complete like tenonto and utah which means it would have some cool ability or attack so I'm completely fine with that, plus its not as if we would only get a dino every 2-4 weeks we will also get cool new additions to the game along with the dino at times.
2-4 weeks is basically half a month up to a full entire month..you honestly expect a new dino per month? from these devs? it's great talk and i'd be happy if so, but realistically and looking at track records i would predict an irregular update schedule with at least a month or three between.
edit: two weeks per dino lol, i mean c'mon folks, the isle?
I agree, its been three years since i played and i've seen almost no development ingame.
As far as I can remember, the Dev's were not the best people anyway- the might of improved but a lot of them used to have a nasty attitude.
So I wonder how many more years will it be in early access before I see it finished?
I am very excited about this game, but it is as if it came out again from the beginning, despite having already been in early access for 5 years xD
Incorrect.
They gave us a release date around February this year, and a few times the year before that, there were even rumors about the recode sense 2018.
I'm not super involved with the community these days because I'd rather waste my time doing something else, but there have definitely been pushbacks. It also should not take 5 years to get your game out of development or at least make a decent ammount of progress. The recode is basically throwing everything out and making an entirely new game, I cannot imagine how long it will take to actually get the game out of beta before Steam shuts it down...
This game had potential. I used to enjoy it a ton, but it's hard to be patient with a game like this.
The february release date was the cause of speculation, they even literally stated on the discord that they didn't aim for that at all. That was a community error. So before you go around stating facts as ''incorrect'' without any facts backing up your incorrect statement, please do some research on your own before you claim something to be incorrect, when it has in fact not been incorrect.

As you can see, they even made a statement about it.
As you said, they were rumors. Rumors aren't official, they never gave us a release date. It's literally that simple. It's actually people like you that quote incorrect information and then somehow assume them to be factual, when it's not. Please stop this.
They never specified any date or ETA, at all. They did this very intentionally yet people find reason to blame them for release date they themselves never gave.
