Is the recode "Universal"?
Sry but i dont want to play 2 Dinos and wait for months to get another Dino. So will it be possible to use older version and maps with all 15?

Yep. They're going to enable this current build on a legacy branch of the game and you'll be able to play it just fine while waiting for more content in the new build.

You can play the old version for another 3 years until you get the next 2 Dinos ... maybe 2100 we will get the "recode" MAYBE!

I suspect many of us will still be on the older servers, while things are so limited, at least. It was nice of them to keep the older servers around. If there's AI in abundance in the updated version, then it may not be so bad. Still, I think it'll be players jumping on one another like it's going out of style. Alongside others who might try out the new herbivore? Not as many, I'm sure. :steamsad:

Faster more frequent updates? I don't really know what that means, but I'm sure it will be faster than now. No ballpark times for updates on the new content?

I think the limited roster might be fun to mess with while it lasts; kind of like how it was in the early days of Survival, where you'd only have a few select dinosaurs and the roster would slowly expand. It was a fun experience, and it was very unique because each dinosaur was quite the game changer. There was also a very clear faction divide, which furthered the unique nature of the mode while it was in dev.

It's very understandable to want to remain with the complete roster, though, as there's more options and furthermore more playability.

Pretty sure it was said that it would take them about 2-4 weeks to implement a dinosaur but that they will only start doing so after they flesh out all the bugs that the initial release has (which was estimated to take about a month)

Overall I think it was a bad idea to split up the game into recode and legacy.

At least patch up the current game so it's not a catastrophic mess it is right now.

What's wrong with it?

The recode is the patch to the current game, the only reason that legacy will exist is for people that want to wait until the EVRIMA version (which will be latest version) of the game gets more dinosaurs but they are not going to start supporting two different branches of the game.
I think that they'd (reasonably) want people to move on to the latest version of the game and one good way to make them do so is to make sure that the legacy version is considerably outdated and overall worse than the latest version.

They physically cannot do this. They've rebuilt the entire game on their end, it isn't compatible with the current one.

The trike rule will live on in infamy. :steamfacepalm: I hope the updated version doesn't mirror the same messed up logic.

@Harry: Ya, my bad, I've been skipping things lately lol. So much of the same thing all the time.

Balance with certain playables and juveniles, AI Spawns spoonfeeding carnivores, these fixes I wouldn't imagine taking a lot of work to change. Would make the legacy version not redundant and an empty wasteland 1 month after the recode drops.

The game's playerbase's shouldn't be split up when you're testing for something. Especially if you want it to be bug tested and where you'll move Official too.
If you're gonna add in a version of the game into an update that is just inferior to the CURRENT game, why even have it in the first place?

Since they're adding in the legacy version, then that means they have access to all the old content to move it to the Legacy branch, or at least I assume so.

bi-weekly to monthly, that's the range

I hope many dinosaurs only available in sandbox so far will finally make it in survival mode.
I don't know if they have said anything about that.

They want to get most if not all of the current dinosaurs in sanbox playable, only one getting scrapped is Puertasaurus, but that was confirmed to be getting replaced by brachiosaurus a long time ago.

Only one I think rumored to not get in was Shantungosaurus, but Kissen has said that she hasn't been told to scrap it. Or something like that.
