Otherwise a full adult Carnotaurus
1. Carnotaurus
2. Gallimimus
3. Maiasaura
4. Utahraptor
Note that this disregards utahraptor's ambush, which as far as I know is faster than the default speeds of any of the dinos listed.
Herrera also has the fastest and possibly the longest lasting ambush. You can run from one lake to the other in one ambush burst as Herrera.
For survival dinosaurs it's likely:
Top speed - probably an ambushing Utah
Running - Carnotaurus
Long distance - probably Gallimimus
I honestly don't know where Herrera fits in because I haven't played sandbox in a while.
Carnotaurus is the fastest dinosaur in Survival, in it's base sprint speed and also has an amazing crouch and trot speed. If you want to run away, you can do so from literally everything else in the Isle. And some might say 'ermagerd Herrera is faster!' yes, but Herrera has ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for stamina and you can ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beat it's ass if it goes after you. Your runtime on Carno is nearly 4 minutes, and while your stamina regen is atrocious, it's not as bad as Galli. Your bleed resistance is by far the best here, and your fall tolerance is also the best here... you can comfortably run off ledges w/o snapping your leg, most of the time.
Utahraptor is only fast inherently in it's sprint, and reaches even higher speeds during it's ambush. Said ambush sprint can catch anything in their base sprint. You have less stamina than a Carno, but are more agile and can ambush, so this allows you to engage and escape them. Your trot speed and crouch speed are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke, and like the aforementioned two, you have atrocious stamina regen.
Maiasaura is just a very fast, fast boi. The heaviest on this list, and yet also faster than Utahraptor, it's efficient at travelling in pretty much every possible respect; amazing trot speed and stamina regen coupled with being one helluva fast boi. Furthermore your turn allows you to escape Carnotaurus and actually fight back if you have a herd. You have a lower runtime than all the others here but... you can recuperate your stamina much faster.
Saying which is the 'fastest' in a straight-line doesn't really matter because they all have qualities that set them apart from one-another
Herrera has poor stamina? What are you on??? And more importantly where can I get it?
Herrera easily has some of the best stamina in the game. You could run well over half the entire length of the western gulf on V3 on one full Stamina bar. It's definitely enough to get away from Carno and Utah in a long distance pursuit. Add that to it's insane trot speed and Regen.
The only thing that has any chance in hell of running down a Herrera is a Galli, since they're just as fast if not faster, and their turn is on par with Herrera.
Carnos might be the fastest, but they're easily the worst long-distance pursuit hunters compared to Utah and against prey like Maia and Galli. Anything can juke them out, so being able to trash a Utah or Galli doesn't mean much if they can't catch them.
The only time I ever see a Carno actually catch a Utah is when the Utah is retarded and blows all its stamina by jumping everywhere or if it commits suicide by charging a Carno, in which case it's practically GIVING itself as prey rather than a Carno actually catching it.
