The Isle

The Isle

What are the five ecosystems/biomes you want to have in The Isle?
(Simply list them off, don't get into in-depth conversations about them, and be respectful even if you don't agree with them)

1) Savanna

2) Boreal Forest

3) Desert

4) Tundra

5) Tallgrass Prairie

I think tallgrass is the only thing that will happen, the other 4 will prob be modded maps.

I'd like some more open areas. The current montane forest we have is nice and all, but it's very boring after a while. I don't see much other than that. Maybe a boulder field type environment with gravel and little vegetation.
Shockal Mar 20, 2019 @ 8:22pm
tropical rainforest
[Ravenous] Mar 20, 2019 @ 10:52pm
Savannah
Rainforest
Redwoods
Tallgrass

And finally, some evidence of the island being inhabited and extensively used by humans other than single buildings here and there, aka road-networks, bridges and remains of infrastructure like powergrids and maybe even railroad tracks. Unless the lore is going to claim that all maintenance and use of the facilities on the island ceased atleast 40 or 50 years before the game takes place or something

They need large grazing grounds for the herbivores. Like just a lot of vast plains with tall grass and with their food bushes so they can eat and be able to keep an eye out for large predators.
It would be a good hunting ground for Carno and Utah too.

Open wetlands for fishers too, when fish are implemented, so that fishers aren't constantly looking through dense forest when they're on land.

Maybe cave systems carved into the mountains and hills.

I'd like to see tropical rainforest of something like SkullIsland from the 2005 kingkong movie with a landscape that's breaking apart with deep cracks and fissures and tall misty mountains and old ancient ruins tangled in roots and vines of tall Chinese Banyan Trees. And swamps with thick mist covering the water hiding terrible creatures underneath. And lush open fields with a mix of knee to waist high grass mixed with tall grass over a mans head for raptors to hide in and ambush their prey.

This is all I want from an Island and I hope to build an Island like this once the DevKit is up and running once again for the public to use.

Now we have
Jungle or rainforest
Redwood
Leaf berjozka wood
Rocky tundra
Kind of praire.

I would say some forest locations could be changed with tall grass or bushy location, thats it.

Also some sequoja forest location will be fine.

Pangea had a good Island mod , but modding was closed...

But modding will be back up at some point in the far future.

This is my type of thread, I've said this once and I will say it again, The Isle needs a diverse environment, the forest is boring. Its almost like having only one dinosaur skin, at some point people are gonna ask for something new.

Just look how much of a success the skins did, everyone loves them.

Here we go, first I'd like them to update the graphics engine (i wish) to make things look much better.

I want V3 to have some sort of variations in the environment, like if you walk for 20 minutes you come to something else than just another forest. Imagine coming out of the forest and seeing this big field with tall grass.

^ This could be the Utah spot of the game, which is known for being dangerous and having lots of Utahs just waiting to pounce on something walking by.

When you get far up in the mountains you'll see snow or tundra whatever, maybe even glaciers. To be fair its not realistic, but the strain dinosaurs aren't either.

There should be a town where the humans used to live, or currently living, lots of houses where humans and smaller dinosaurs can enter. I bet they are already working on stuff so humans can get into buildings, once they get released.

A savannah or some kind of desert would be nice.

Redwood forest had character, I remember getting lost in there everytime i went inside. It was a lot of fun seeing people complain in global chat that they are lost in the redwood forest.

To be honest the list in endless, but please DEVS do something about the forest, its sooo boring. You can hire me, i take 100$ for each idea. I promise I will make this a much better game.
I agree its good to have all sorts of different environments for modders to use in this game but I don't know how I would feel about having 10 totally different biomes all on the same Island like how Ark Survival Evolved has its Island with a snow biome and then next to that is a desert and then a swamp and only takes like 5 minutes to run through them all. I want this game have a bit more realistic feel to it when it comes to environments and look as though each environment gradually blends in with the next and slowly transitions into a new biome If you know what I mean.

1) Savanna

2) Boreal Forest

3) Desert

4) Tundra

5) Tallgrass Prairie

Tropical Rainforest (includes river delta)
Temperate Rainforest (includes redwoods)
Estuary/Freshwater Wetland (includes river delta and swamp)
Savanna
Desert

I wouldn't ask for marine, coral reef or tundra unless we had prehistoric animals that existed in this biomes full time. Plants and macro algae were limited for those based on time periods if we're trying to stay within the late cretaceous or earlier.

I have a post that could make something of having cooler regions like a tundra and glaciers. This could probably work better as a mod, but my post was asking if we would get more creatures that are neither Dinosaur, nor mutant.

I mostly asked for primitive reptiles like Dimetrodon, Gorgonospid and such, but also included some Cenezoic mammals that would thrive in a tundra/glacier region, like Amphicyon, Smilodon, Woolly Rhino and Mammoth. Someone said that mammals wouldn't survive against dinos, but Im pretty sure a 6 ton Mammoth could thrash any carnivore that isn't an Apex.

Plus, this game doesn't exactly go for realism, being set in modern rather than prehistoric times, with dinosaurs living alongside primitive humans, mercenaries, and mutants

some type of region that is just above 0 degrees celcius. Some dinos did live in rather cold climates.

Maybe some forest area which was destroyed by lava or wild fire.

You know "The hunter call of the wild"?

Savanna (Vurhonga DLC) there is just looking damn beautiful, natural, realistic, simply great. You have grasland, steppe, djungle looking like regions, etc. Something like that would be great to have in the Isle game.

1) Scrub

2) Forest

3) Redwoods

4) Swamp/Marsh

5) Grassland

Think these would at least somewhat make sense all on the same map.
