Can herbis scent work in the rain?
Seems a bit lopsided that predators can still hear their food, while herbis have to wait out the rain to be able to sniff something out.

I've starved once as a para because the rain wouldn't stop.

Should be a nice trade off, predators are able to hear their food and sniff on the run.

Starved as a dibble because of the rain, which really annoyed me.

The range of the scent could be reduced, I don't mind. Just something that helps when the flood happens.

Scent is an airborne particle...thus rain prevents it from moving laterally. No lateral movement...you only smell what s falling with the rain at your location if any. Deer for instance typically bed up during the rain because there senses are severely limited. Makes sense to me.

I wouldn't mind a very short range sniff for herbs during rain, can't have my food supply starve after all :3

Shouldn't be calling out as an herbivore, rain or no rain. It's hard to tell footsteps from thunder sometimes, so I assume the carnivores find you because you call out.

It doesn't provide a compass IRL either...

There needs to be compromise between gameplay and realism, it's a video game after all

It's more of just giving a sense of direction, which animals seem to have naturally. I'm not saying they see things as North, South, etc, but animals will know how to find their way just by taking a sniff. The only reason we see it as a compass is because, video game.

I usually begin to prepare for the rain, find a bush to eat, then return.
Or hide near the bush until rain starts, then fill up and return to original hiding place.

I think the issue may be location too. Some areas seem barren of herb food so when it rains it becomes a needle in a haystack to find food unaided

Heh, yeah, that doesn't work if you log in and it's already raining.

Would be fantastic if there was a sleeping option. You lose stats much slower but your vision is either greatly reduced or completely blank.

But also have a "recharge" on it so it's not abused by the people who alt-tab to get free growth. Some animals sleep very little, after all. Especially prey items. Maybe give the option to have cat naps or a full long sleep. Possibly a HUD that decreases as you rest.

Should help with the rain problem in a realistic way, as mentioned above, since a lot of animals tend to wait it out.

it seems the herbs that are food looks like a plant with berries. i spot them all the time as a carnivore. might be a good idea to remember what they looked like in case of rain. but i might be wrong :)

O, on an open field, the bushes are distinctive. In the forest, not so much, and at night? No way. Especially if you're playing as a growing herbi that eats like a glutton, it can be a death sentence.
