Para vs Maia playstyle
Is there any difference between the Para and the Maia playstyle?

Maia outclasses Para in this scenario. Maia is faster then Para, therefore it has a better chance to survive a predatory attack.

Maia can outrun almost anything. Para 'can' attempt to outdistance things. If you have enough stamina and a decent distance away, you may have a chance. You can even put up a decent fight, though again, depends on what it is. A few dumb utahs/dilos won't be much of a threat once you reach adulthood. I've fended off three carnos (put my back to a nearby rock), as well as scaring off a solo allo. Then was eaten by a giga.

Para needs and severe buff. It is literally useless. Funny how the carnivores of its same class are perfectly capable of fighting and running from all threats HOWEVER para gets nothing but a crap load of stamina it cant even use.

Both hardro should be able to fight smaller things, and run away from bigger.
Maia is like big gali who can slam utahs or dilos, outrun others. 1vs1 could fight carno. Best bleed resistance.
Para was able to outrun apexes, fight others, but now is to weak. Can fight cera or carno, but allo or sub rex would be problem.

Maia is one of the most overtuned dinos in the game right now, maybe even broken (not kidding), Reason is very simple, amazing speed combined with decent health and damage. Carnivore juvis or smaller adults killer, can't escape, just accept death.

Maiasaura is Herbivore with ability to bully almost everyone, Parasaurolophus can defend against smaller carnivores but other than that it's just big walking food.

Maia have difficulties of bulling anything bigger then dilo.

Maia is literally a better para. Devs seem to hate herbs in this game, they have horrible bleed resist, terrible swim speed (paras is one of the worst) and usually are disadvantaged when faced with a pred within the same tier

Para is absolutely eviscerated by Allo and Cerato and Subrex, and if against patient Carnos is also doomed because of it's atrocious bleed heal.

While Para has amazing stamina, his regen, trot speed, sprint speed and being, yknow, SUPER LOUD AND OBVIOUS, make it a categorically inferior Maia. Neither can fight off, reliably, Ceras, Allos, Subrexes... but Maia can escape these. Para cant.

i feel bad for every para i kill as carnivore, they are so useless in a fight...the stomp attack hitbox is like non existent

and when im in a herd and see paras there i mostly play maia or trike and i ask myself: why do people play para to begin with? they cant fight most of the dinos and they cant run away

4 hours for a walking meal dino wtf

I've killed adult carno's with my Maia bc their bleed doesn't do ♥♥♥♥ to you so they're definitely the more viable of the two. I do love being a para though for some reason. Maybe it's the size? And when you do actually pull off the kick you can one shot a utah which is super satisfying but that's if it hits and let's be honest, it rarely ever does. I think if para's were allowed to kick while moving they'd be vastly superior and more of a threat to carnis in the same tier as them.

Para needs just a slight speed buff, and it needs the ability to kick while running.

And a stam regen buff. Considering how slow its trot is, most carnivores can outdistance it just by resting.
