Rex vs giga is a terrible match up

Simple. The rex is better then a giga in most combat situations. Convince me otherwise.

Rex needs a speed nerf so the giga can actually try to bleed it out (it's supposed Niche), or the giga needs a damage buff to actually survive in a close quarters battle.

I just died to one rex in a giga duo, he hit me 5 times and killed me, and my buddy got messed up and murdered.

I was hitting him for a good 15 seconds cause he also walked off a cliff and broke his leg and couldn't alt turn on me.

Except that...yknow..rex's stam is so horribly trash there really isn't a reason to fight a rex in the first place unless ur caught off guard or decide to be an idiot and just try to fight one deliberately. Both of which are your fault if you die.

You shouldn't be fighting a rex as giga anyways. The giga nerf was well deserved accept it. Giga can still easily kill rex although it shouldn't go head to head with it.

No... the rex can catch you within about 400 meters, or what I'd call an open field (what you usually come across in terms of openings) obviously he won't catch you if you see him across the trips pond or something, but any closer than that and you can't fight.

And consider this: how do you fight a rex? you can't. I said convince me, not provide excuse (IE stop crying, giga nerf was needed)

That's completely false, If a giga and rex see each other, both crouch and giga turns and ambushes away he can easily outrun rex at like 100 meters. Rex is only slightly faster at base run speed and it's stamina lasts like 20-30 seconds. Giga regains stamina while trotting and trots faster. Quit trying to make it seem like giga is helpless if it sees a rex.

I actually agree with the giga nerf, and I prefer the giga to the rex. It should not be able to facetank a rex. On servers with alt turn disabled(which there are a lot of); if the giga sets it up right, he can get on the ass of the rex and literally ride him to death, the rex can't do anything. On servers with alt turn ENABLED, the rex will !@#$ on a giga 1v1. Rex is and always has been the king of brute force. Giga is easier to survive with in pretty much every other aspect.

Keep in mind that I personally don't really have a problem with this, considering basically anything that a rex can kill can also escape it pretty easily provided they actually see it coming (albeit trikes are still ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in this category, god help them). There are other methods to survival and gaining the advantage on other species outside of fighting and violence.

They were around the same size, and rex was bulkier.

A Rex doesnt NEED to be able to solo kill 2 Gigas. Its called balance. Oh wait, its the Isle. I forgot. Balance and even remote realism doesnt exist outside graphics lmao Do some research. A rex never would have been able to take a Giga. On that note, the spino should be stronger than a Rex and should be able to go toe to toe with a GIga. Science says so.

Everyone forgets that there’s a third “apex”, even though it’s not one, Trike. I call it this because it’s one if the big three that being giga, rex, and of course trike. Rex vs giga vs trike goes as follows:

Rex>trike - by a landslide, rex can facetank trike like there’s no tomorrow.

Rex=giga - giga cannot face tank rex but that’s as it should be however you can still ambush rex and apply your bleed to it. So the combat between these two is balanced.

Trike<giga - giga can’t face tank trike but you can still easily apply your bleed and run off since trike STILL doesn’t have enough strength to punish giga unlike rex. So any competent giga can still kill trike quite easily even with trikes added bleed resistance.

With all that being said if you think giga has it rough, try trike who’s always left in the dust with these updates. Don’t give me that terrible excuse of “herbivores need to be in a herd” well carnivores can form packs, what’s your point?

In fact, according to this game size and bite force are everything so. In terms of strength and what not. starting from weakest to strongest this is how rex, giga, nnd spino should rank up. Rex is the weakest, giga would be the mid tier, and spino would actually be the Apex of the 3. Again, Science says so.

Myth. T. rex is the largest theropod dinosaur ever. Giganotosaurus and Spinosaurus are not that far behind but rex is still the biggest (8 ton Rex vs 7 Ton Spino/Giga)
