Question for devs involving color paltetes
A lot of the time in the isle, since the addition of color customization, alot of people have loved, and used Giga 5 in their dinosaur palettes. But recently, this was removed from most dinos. This color was a dark black. I was wondering why this was removed. Black is a popular color, and most people loved including black into their dino. In my views, i see no reason for it's deletion from particular dinosaur color schemes. Seeing how this game tends to sway towards realism, we can't rule out that dinosaurs couldn't have been completely black, so if this was the reason i don't see why it was still removed. Character customization has always been a huge part of games, so getting Giga 5 back certainly wouldn't harm this game in any way. I've tried asking around the community to see if maybe it was a bug with giga 5, but no results. So my conclusion is that we are simply left in the dark, to wonder what happened to giga 5.

In the screenshots below, you can still see we can choose giga 5, in the final slot for most creatures, so it wasn't 100% removed. But why only for the last slot. I'm hoping this will shed some light for some people, and hopefully I can get a response.

This is what we could do before with coloring our creatures

This is now the closest we can get to full black

Devs dislike melanistic color schems and have said so in the past.

Gotta love how because the devs don't personally like something they punish the entire playerbase.

Why add the color in the first place if you're just going to take it away again? I hate this "policing how people play" nonsense, why even add skin customization anyway if you're going to make the majority of the pallet the same boring browns and pukey greens the default skins were to begin with? Clearly they don't want players to be able to... you know... customize their skins to their liking.

devs are racist lol, also they recently added rex 1 color, and removed it in this update for no reason, it was not even black.

Lol, the two examples are indoraptor skins. That's exactly what they were trying to stop by removing Giga 5

Also, during a stream before the Pachy and Sucho update Dondi said the reason he won’t add blue to Utah for details is cuz he knew that edgy people would just make Blue

Real sick of the "no fun allowed" mindset. How dare people have fun! How dare people want to use certain colors! Better remove colors we gave them from the start because they're popular!

If they really hate colors so much might just allow people to mod them in and then see how unpopulair their opinion is.

Really, part of me would hate most dinosaurs having really bright colors, but this is simply a limitation for no practical reason whatsoever, just limiting the player base because they do not like what the player base might do with it.

That argument makes no sense. If they didnt want people to have black dinos why even add those colors in the first place for us to use? As been said many animals in nature are black. I guess by that logic anyone who owns a black dog, cat, lizard, rat, or snake are just edgy kids right?

This would be like if an MMO dev removed the a race in the game because "Furries usually play this race and I don't like Furries so remove the entire race from the game even though these people have already payed for this game and a large portion of people who aren't Furries play this same race."

So until an official explanation comes out I'm gonna sit here and HOPE that's not the logic used because that would be incredibly stupid logic for doing this. God let me hope...

I just want to have fun. And devs don't like fun. Why limit the player base. There is no evidence anyway of what color dinosaurs were, how do we know they weren't bright ♥♥♥♥'n pink. So why can't we have black. "oh you'll try and be blue or the indo" yeah so? People on here ERP as dinos, why do you care if we wana be all black with gold stripes.

We do actually legit know the colors of a few dinos, albeit very few (including taco, which the Isle's version is basically a spitting image of color wise).

Ironically enough, black (and lots of it) was a popular color scheme among various dinosaurs it seems, the ones tested anyway (Archaeopteryx was a jet black, Microraptor was an irredescent black like a grackle, and Anchiornis was a mix of black and white).

I guess you're right, and the fact you are proves to the fact that devs removed giga 5 simply because they ddin't like that people made indo skins. thanks for your feedback!
creatura05 Feb 28, 2019 @ 2:15pm
if any of you went to the discord to talk about the removal of black you'd see some strong sentiment against its use to make indoraptor. :/
Mid Feb 28, 2019 @ 3:55pm
Welp they better remove all light grays, white, and creams then cause the Indominus was white after all! Clearly anyone who uses white on their dinos is just tryingto make the I.Rex right? Not like people could have been inspired by real world animals when making their skins or anything, nah fam.

That logic is even stupider than the other reason. Like literally how is this hurting anyone if someone makes a Indoraptor looking skin? It it bugs people that much they can just kill em.

What next, they gonna remove the browns cause people are making Rexy in the game? This is faulty logic. I have never seen a game remove a color option in the game that was a popular choice without good reason. So like I said, I'm gonna sit here and HOPE that's not the logic behind this because it's... terrible thinking and very short-sighted if it is.

Why can't we just have a black dino, and why do devs care so much about if someone wants to have indoraptor colors. people ♥♥♥♥'n ERP on this game, AS DINOS! Yall don't seem to mind that. But ya mind the color black.
