Rex hunger drain

Had a day off work so hauled out a Rex progression. The adults hunger drain is far too fast considering the play style it’s encouraged to have. I love sneaking around and waiting for the right moment to ambush but the time limit pressures the player to take risks. Won’t elaborate, might be a waste of time. Juvi seems great. Sub is a little weak. Big easy meal, harder than juvi. Adult, AI doesn’t fill the gaps so need to hunt, everything hides on the sound of stomp but sneaking wastes hunger drain. Would love to really take my time

Sub rex is the best medium carnivore in the game in the end, and it is better than its rivals around half of his growth.

Apex predators must be hard to grow and to keep because as things are right now a lot of kids grow them when the servers are empty because people is at work/school/etc and they can afk grow them on oros/tacos with 0 skill involved.

If adult apex management was even easier then goodbye to every other dino in the game.

Like Maverick said, if Apexes were made any easier everyone would just play them, heck that's all I've been seeing anyways a lot of times is people trying to grow as them. Its best to leave their hunger alone to thin the herd a bit eh?

When becoming a apex ya gotta deal with their flaws as well, No creature is perfect in every way.

Why Trikes dont get the same treatment? Why Gigas dont get the same treatment then? No answers? Well I guess next time actually answer OP question instead of making strawman arguments.

Gigas and trikes have the same downsides as a rex.... in fact probably MORE downsides in the trikes case.

Nope instead it can't run anywhere at all and is a sitting duck for smart predators ever since his nerf to turn radius.

Although I agree with the fact that the apexes all do have difficulties with food and that it's basically a staple of their type, in the Rex's case I could see why polecat would think its too severe. He said it himself with how rex currently functions. As a rex, you are extremely strong, and very extreme when it comes to mobility. Provided you can sneak up on your prey, almost nothing can get away. However, if said prey sees you coming, almost anything can escape you (except trikes which are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥). This creates the dynamic of stealth being very necesary in order to sustain a meal for the rex. Problem is though, said stealth takes time and patience. With the very extreme hunger drain rate it has, it directly punishes people for trying to be patient and stealthy. It's very hypocritical and counterproductive imo. Not saying to buff its hunger, I don't really have a stance on the matter myself, but polecat does have a point.

Pretty much this. It's lack of stamina regen at trot, and that turn radius nerf, makes it a walking buffet. Solo, I should add. In a group, that's a different story, but on my server, I've seen a group of utahs take out a trike, just because it couldn't turn fast enough.

Stop complaining about Trike. I made adult rex and 3 subs run away and then I got jumped by 3 allos. Didnt die.

Trike killed rex almost 100% of the time. Only thing changed is rex has less stam and trike got lower turn rates. HE CAN STILL MAUL REX TO DEATH EASLY. EVEN WITHOUT USING STOMP ONCE. Just stack the bleed holdy ♥♥♥♥ guys its not a rocket science.

i kinda agree, but then the rex his growth should be longer, or it's top speed should be nerfed.

Personally i think the stamina drain on the rex is kinda ok, but hmm...it's stomach should be like bigger, so it could go somewhat longer without food, but it still would need big meals.
for an example i do not see anything wrong with a rex instantly eating every meat in one sitting from like a parasaur or smaller if it came from an empty stomach.

Besides that traveling across the map with a rex is a pain...though i do not think they should ever buff the top speed, the rex having more stamina….well, if it can not have a bigger stomach it should have more of that.


or as an other alternative, the rex should be capable to eat everything on what it kills; though i do not really like this latter idea, since i kinda like the idea that maybe some other scavenger will clean up the mess :p

as a counter for any of those i think that when playing as a t-rex, 2 adult t rex should not be capable to be in the same group or cooperate

the rex could use a slightly slower drain on it's hunger to promote the playstyle it ought to have. I don't think it would push it over the top.

Giga gets the same treatment. And trike is slow as ♥♥♥♥ and useless both as jvui and subadult, extremely vulnerable and forced to move. You cannot play bush simulator and camp because the plants don't despawn.
