Some tips that can help. Sit in an area for a few minutes. I've had AI literally spawn in front of me. Another is to search around water sources. A third is to find a fellow rex. More players in an area increase spawn rate.
As for decreasing rex growth time, then I have to disagree. They're the most powerful predator out right now. There's a reason why they have such a long growth period, and it's to help keep the numbers down.
Not to forget to mention the most important thing:
- when you play on +100 servers (some have 120-200) you will very much likely have no AI spawn next to you and die of starvation sooner or later. (especially when you are not within a pack)
- on a full 100 server it CAN be an issue too, not as much as on 150 server, but you will see whenever there are less than 80 people online there is never any AI spawn problem.
But i have a sympathy for herbs, so i got your point
With carnivores you will find some bushes sooner or later in other areas, and if you realize early enough that in the current area food gets short, you normally should be able to survive. At least that is my experience on any map so far.
This is fine and all but if you never come across another player on a dead slow dino, then that doesn't solve anything. V3 is simply too large, you have to rely on AI spawns.
