Allosaurus and ceratosaurus size

In the isle ceratosaurus is a little greater than the allo, but in real life allosaurus had a lenght of 8.5 meters and ceratosaurus only 6.7, why in game allosaurus is so small? (Sry my bad english)

What I mean by an ambush pred is a small carnivore, easily able to hide itself, with low health but huge damage and bleed, a low crouch in which it could walk decently fast, and a high ambush speed that would only last for two or so seconds before petering off to a decent sprint. The objective with the dino would be to wait in one spot for a long time until suitable prey came along and then go for a couple hits and then run. It would go down hard in a face to face confrontation, the idea being to hit you in the back then retreat. Maybe this isn't exactly the right configuration, but you can definitely design a dino tailored for ambushing prey, something more technical than just running after stuff.

There is no obligatory ambush style predator in the game, a hunter that waits for its meals to come across it and catches them off guard, killing them quickly. Most of the carnivores in the game just spot something from far away and are like, "LOOK, FOOD, CHASE!" And then they proceed to run across half the map.

But your point that it doesn't have to be Cerato is totally correct, my point is more that they don't have a dino well optimized for this style of gameplay. Now that I think about it we do need another scavenger, aside from Rex. What we really just don't need more of is endurance hunters. We already have three, technically five.

saurophaganax is just a big allo(literally, people think it was just an allo that lived long enough to be that big. I'm sure you can see the similarities)

When you use the Allosaurus in sandbox, is the full sized one? Or is it 0,85?
If yes, it's just not fair. He is arround 7,5 metres. The size of the subadult "Big All". The size should be somewhat between 9 and 10, taking into account that they are using the max sizes for almost all the other dinosaurs (maybe the Giga should be a bit bigger conparing to t-Rex).
Ceratosaurus was other scale predator. It's the same case than for example Tyrannosaurus and Albertosaurus. You can't put them at the same size because they were into different size ranges. Not enought with this they put the Cerato bigger than the Allo! Cerato should be 7 or 7,5 metres if they want to put him really big, but clearly smaller than the Allo. At least 2 metres in lenght.
With the dinosaurs we have in the game, Allosaurus should be by far the best predator under the apexes and Acro. Yes, this is their game, but this is so weird.

Because devs want to make cerato a bully that steal carcasses from other mid-tier carnivores.
But honestly i don't really like the idea of allo being so small in game when its real life average counterparts are around 9 m in legth, with maximum individuals reaching 12m in length. While the average size of cerato is only 6.5m.
Even thoughthis game doesn't include pure realisim, but yes i found this weird too..

It's funny, because is evident that Allosarus were the one that tyrannized the Cerato when they had opportunity.... Like A Lion with a Leopard for example. Basic zoology...

The 12 metres individuals had apparently enought morphology variations to put them in differents genus. And asuming the game mechanics we don't need another 12 metre long apex. But an Allo with 9-10 metres yes. As he is right now in the game, what is his purpose? Should be a dino between apexes and mid-tier ones. Allowing him to bully all the others except the apexes and Acro. And giving him the posibility to compete with the Acro as an ambush hunter, smaller and weaker animal but faster and with better stamina.
Right now I see it only as a cool dino to make cool packs.... Individually is meeeeeh.

Please make sure you check the date on a thread as this one is quite old. Cerato will be getting a size change in a future patch to a smaller slimmer build.
