Gallimimus is functionally immortal and can easily escape every other animal in the game and can kill similarly sized animals such as Utahraptor and Dilophosaurus if you know what you are doing. It's sheer speed and agility and stamina let it come out on top if you are paying attention which is always the key to survival as any solo player. You won't die unless you actively bite off more than you can chew or are just not paying attention.
Carnotaurus can effectively escape everything just as well as is beyond a doubt the best scavenger in the game while also able to kill anything smaller in stature - Ceratosaurus, Maiasaura, Dilophosaurus, Utahraptor, Dryosaurus, all Juveniles, most fresh adults and young sub apexes. Gallimimus are not worth bothering because they will just dance around you if they have two braincells. Dilos are a no-go at night but catch them by surprise or in the open and they are an ideal meal. Utahs aren't an issue unless they have numbers, in which case your unrivaled speed lets you zippity zoop away.
Stamina management and awareness of your environment are key - unlike Galli you cannot just sprint everywhere, always try to stay at 3/4 stamina in case Allosaurus or Utahraptor packs roll up. Carnotaurus also have the single best juvenile in the game, as they can actually escape most predators at larger sizes. Your fresh adult is like every fresh adult, a worthless sack of meat.
Galli is only ranked higher due to shorter growth and braindead easy gameplay. Carno is Galli but able to hunt and survive injuries.
Utahraptor are phenomenal as a worse Galli that jumps better, when solo that is. You are a scavenger when solo / brutaliser of juveniles, with your only consistent prey items being Pachycephalosaurus and Dryosaurus (who are free kills); Dilophosaurus are very risky and damn near kill you as often as you kill them, and Gallimimus only will get in range of being caught if they are actively trying to kill you which means they know how, so avoid these Gallis like the plague. Larger juveniles can and will beat you senseless - so your worse than Carno at hunting them. However you are the single most sustainable carnivore in the game because you are the only adult animal that can eat Taco and Oro gores, and your very high stamina and good sprint speed allow you to travel the map in search of hunting opportunities and leftovers. Your capacity to jump allows you to get to safe areas to recover stamina or escape threats like Allosaurus, Dilophosaurus and Carnotaurus as well as your main predator, Maiasaura.
Speaking of that cow demon, Maiasaura are simply braindead easy animals, like Gallimimus. The only reason they get ranked lower than the three above is how they are much more easily hunted and do less well solo compared to them. Herds of Maiasaura are disgustingly good, but as a solitary one you are more liable to be outmaneuvered by packs of Allosaurus or a lone Carnotaurus and made into their dinner, and unlike other animals here you cannot escape every bad encounter. However you are extremely tanky and heal bleed and HP and stamina like a god and can pretty much sprint 24/7 - you don't need to given your amazing trot but you are amazing at travelling. Also, herbivores have lower solo survivability simply because the majority of the server is carnivores that want you dead, and when it's night and rain you just log or starve lol. You basically make lone Utahraptors and Dilophosaurus' your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on demand.
Allosaurus is an animal that is just god tier at everything. He proves the expression wrong. He's the master of all trades. So why is it ranked so low solo? Because Allosaurus' are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everywhere and very, very prone to cannibalise any who do not join their pack. It's that simple. While you are quite able to escape a myriad of predators with your endurance, stealth and speed combining to make you a god at travelling or running down anything faster (with the exception of Gallimimus) if you are persistent, you NEED to be vigilant to not be eaten by an apex, or a Suchomimus or a pack of other mid tiers. Allosaurus are also very susceptible to snapping their legs, so if you do not have a pack to cover you you need to be very careful when fleeing, chasing or just traveling... because nobody can pull aggro.
Dilophosaurus is ranked down here due to its fragility and surprisingly sluggish nature. Every predator can catch you with their ambush, several outspeed or run you down naturally and you can be killed by everything barring a Dryosaurus. So then... why so high? Because it's the only solo animal able to kill nearly everything else in the game EVEN WITH ALT TURN ENABLED. You are also gifted with the best healing of any animal, so if something loses sight of you you comfortably heal off your wounds in a jiffy. Your trot speed is the third best in the game and your stamina regen is nothing to scoff at. Your food demands are low, so scavenging is a very comfortable option, and unlike Utahraptor you can bleed out large juveniles with little to no risk to yourself - just bite once and wait. While you may not be able to jump to safety or just run away, you can fight back and make something bleed badly enough to where they stop chasing you - and given your insane healing might become your next prey item while they are weakened.
Dryosaurus is this low because it's the only animal who's life doesn't matter. You might be able to escape most encounters but there's no need to, and often times death is assured. If you get inflicted with even small amounts of bleed you will die of thirst while healing, thus assuring your demise. You can hide in burrows but starve and dehydrate so quickly that it really isn't worth entering them beyond waiting out poor conditions. It takes 30min to grow one to full adult. They are super agile, have functionally unlimited stamina and are quite fast. The main thing it's this low is it cannot kill any other full adult animal solo, and struggles to kill most juveniles. But if playing as the victim is your shtick than it's a fine choice.
You can avoid all apexes with your speed and stamina, while having only to worry about sucho (if it comes too close), or bigger packs of carnis. Allo has the longest ambush sprint of all carnis, so you can catch maias and other fast prey very good. If you can bite the prey multiple times, the bleed will finish it very easy.
So you should try Allo.
holy cow
Not much to add to what this man said other than Dilos superior nightvision which can be a real gamechanger. During the night you got your own little meta and you can quite casually afford to roam and travel without having to worry too much about bumping into something nasty unexpectedly. If you're otherwise prone to wait it out or even log off until the sun rises back up Dilo opens doors to so much more active gameplay, which is especially beneficial if you're still learning the game as it speeds up the process. Just don't overextend because you're so frail and don't drop the habit of toggling between nightvision and normal to ensure your not lit by bright moonlight thinking you're the only one able to see.
Personally I enjoy Carno the most for solo play which besides what's been mentioned by Watt, mostly comes down to cosmetics and its buggy nature making it Utahraptor on steroids. If you enjoy taking unusual shortcuts and zipping down rocky terrain at full speed while not being as overall flimsy as a Utah or Gali, Carno is the right choice for you. Play and enjoy b4 its a thing of the past. Mind you that its got a learning curve to it not just when it comes to parcouring the map. Don't try to be Slippery Oodah.
overall i can not also really mention any dino that does that much better in group, they all pretty much do, si i just can not really answer this question
Not that I'll condone it in the future with more balanced dinosaurs and effective mechanics.
Just avoid the general space of an apex carnivore and you're mostly fine because nothing realistically bothers you. Even if we include non survival dinosaurs that arent balanced, pinecone potato holds up very well thx to base speed, incredible turn, high bleed resist and heal (which is what alberto, acro, and spino make the most use out of), only to top it off with their own high ass bleed (so those injection preds minus spino get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a fight).
It's maiasaura lvl because it doesn't have to take anyone's ♥♥♥♥ but on virtue that no one wants to take its.
The downside in my opinion is that they're easier to track because of how their footprints stack and make a golden road...but there's only two-three carnivores that realistically want to mess with you unless they have a group large enough to share dmg.
Its not a good idea but you can easily tank a Diablo as Acro. A newb or somebody who doesn't care about healing bleed for an hour is gonna destroy you. Funnily only somewhat experienced players are not the bigger threat here.
I agree generally that Diablo is phenomenal. Probably the most well rounded herbivore currently in the game.
