How are you supposed to hunt as Trex when everything can hear you.
OK so first be patient, expect to die multiple times! It can't be helped, nobody wants an adult rex around so expect to be hunted with extreme prejudice and your a big meal.
Expect to camp out in trees a ton! You are waiting out the clock, its painful but a fact. Staying alive is proirity number one, staying hidden is the best way to make sure that happens.
Your big and your orange, so not just any tree or bush will do, find groups of trees preferably with hevy ground cover and travel in cover always! Stay away from the open unless your certain the coast is clear and then quickly get to more cover.
Don't wait till your starving to hunt, or dehydrated to go get water, keep topped off you can. Fill up on meat and water and find a cozy spot to listen to the birds. I usually waited till about 2/3rds to 3/4ths empty max before leaving a spot. You don't want to be damaged if you come across a rival and weaken your odds or risk starving/thirsting out.
Don't think that once you hit sub adult your safe! Remember, nobody wants you full grown and there are plenty of bigger baddies and packs of dinos waiting for a fat meal.
Alt truning is your best friend get good at it. If you find yourself squaring of it will save your life! Use your stamina, you have days of it, don't be a sitting target.
Stay quiet! I never use the roars, its like ringing a dinner bell when you start bellowing your location (maybe if your desperate to get other dinos close so you can pop an AI but its risky and then only a few times!)
Crouch almost always, expecally when near water/drinking or prey/feeding, lowers your profile, makes less noise and you leave fewer footprints. the exception is if its raining day or night(masks scent and noise), or your way remote but even then play it safe. Also keeps sprint up just in case you spot a threat and need to move quick.
Listen for the AI, its an early warning system. If its quiet and they start calling, something is in the area keep alert.
I find its safer to hunt during the day if possible and hunker down at night. Dilos and adult apexes have further range of vison at night, seem more active, and can run you down no sweat. If you do need to hunt at night, again, stay in cover and crouch alot.
Have atleast two water locations you know well, staying in one spot for too long is a great way to starve or be eaten.
Dont trust other rexes! Its a good way to get a fresh new growth timer.
The AI will fill you up just fine as a juvie and a fair amount as a sub so stick with them unless a gauranteed kill is an option. Don't risk your life if you dont have to.
Lastly there is an elment of luck, I thought I was a gonner this last time. I was close to starving, but I stumbled upon a juvie Giga corpse that was gaurded by an adult and sub adult raptors, only by sprinting down the sub did I turn the tide and got out alive with a full belly and a nice amount of bleed. Had I not stumbled on the corpse or if the adult raptor not break off I'm not sure I'd have lived to become adult.
TLDR: Baiscally a mute herbavore who camps out alot and gets a little lucky
Hope this helps!
Wow thanks a ton!!!
That's it.
Just make sure it's a popular spot.
Edit: OH MY GOD, HOW MANY GRAVES ARE BEING DESECRATED TODAY!!
