The software, Wattman, is pretty damn good and allows you to do a lot for specific games, depending on what performance you want out of them
My computer was really expensive back in 2012, it still hauls ass, but the AMD I got more recently needed less power than the old, substantially weaker AMD that came with it. My PC's power supply is erm, rather pathetic compared to new rigs. I just bought it, popped out the old one and said hello to the RX 480.
The core similarities? AMD card. More studios reach out to and work with nvidia. Not saying don't get it, just do your research and go over your system to make it all play nice together.
It's not frames. It's a memory leak that happens, or whatever, which causes atleast my version of windows pro to say 'nah ♥♥♥♥ you Isle, you're hogging too much memory'.
