what's the best way to find water?

my biggest issue witrh this game is no matter how long i play all the maps are different and there is no reliable way to locate water without... just.. walking around... is ther a way to add a water scent system or dead body scent system? Or progressiojn flower scent system?

Just a suggestion. I get more frustrated being unable to find any water or resources than i do anything else. I get that it is a hardcore surivval game and i REALLY enjoy those. However... with so many modded maps and the map changing every so often it's not really good for newer players.

Scent is an unfinished feature that isn't added yet, I believe you'll be able to smell water when it's done.

Just a tip: you never actually spawn very far away from water. There’s a guide with all the spawn locations marked, so pull that up on the Steam Overlay while you’re playing. Then, figure out where you spawned and try to follow the landmarks to the nearest source of water.
