Surviving as a baby
So, I got nested in by the same people twice as a trike because I kept dying from lack of food and water.

The problem was is that:
1. the baby trike is slow so I couldn't get from point a to point b very fast.
2. the food dropped like heck whenever I ran.

Any tips on how that could be fixed so such a thing doesn't happen again?

The biggest factor in a hatchling's survival is the placement of the nest. It needs to be placed in such a way that babies can get from food to water and back in under a minute.

Not sure that would be possible to have both at cannon ball lake considering the distance the flowers were from the nest and the distance of water from the nest. That and the fact that baby trikes have less stanima than austros man.

Cannonball lake is probably the worst nesting location in Region 2 for trikes. Spawn Lake and Big Marsh are much better candidates.

Agreed good sir. I dunno how the other trike that wasn't quite an adult, but wasn't a baby either had survived.

Well if you don't want this problem in the future, consider coming over to the dev branch. Plants in that version contribute to your thirst. Adults don't get much from it, but youngsters can pretty much avoid having to go near water. It's pretty great.
Good Question Mar 31, 2018 @ 9:20am
Most dinosaurs seem to have too low of stamina or speed as babys, which is sorta dumb

Yeah, wouldn't species have evolved so their infants are faster so they can escape danger faster, and the adults be slower because they have better defenses when they're older so they don't need to be fast? That's how it is for most animals, best example is probably sea turtles. If you have ever seen a real life adult sea turtle, you will know how slow they are on land. They will be scooting towards the water, then just decide that they want a break and sit there for a long time, and then might get up and keep walking, depends how long you are planning on watching them. Then you see baby sea turtles and they are booking it the moment they hatch, they move way faster than the adults.

Sprinting has no effect on your hunger levels. Yet.

Well, as a baby trike, it sure seemed to have a greater effect than it did on water, either that or maybe the babies food would've dropped like that any ways even if I wasn't running.

Both food and hunger levels deplete at the same rate, no matter what.

In the future, this will change, but for right now there is nothing that affects it.

I got nested in as a rex, great right. Then I had to go off, so when I came back on today, I had no food, and no one to protect me. I wander over to Spawn Lake, and find some gigas with some food. I walk over, and they just watch me. They were sitting down, so I walked over and ate some of their food. I ate it till is was all gone. Then without warning, one giga just stood up, and without warning, bit me. I'm not a baby rex anymore.

Happens if you decide to go for the high risk play. Also there was a warning: A big theropod was sitting right there!

Well, yea. of course you didn't have anyone to help. you logged.

.. and well, yea. you ate their food. If that was me, I wouldn't have let you near the body in the first place.

Well, the fact that they let me near their food made me let my guard down. Also, when it was staring down at me, I was prepared to run. The reason it didn't attack me before was probably because on the server I was on, if you have food you can eat, you shouldn't be attacking others for food unless you are protecting something, like yourself from predators, or a baby or something.
