The Isle

Is the Puertasaurus going to be replaced by Brachiosaurus and why?
I've heard some things about the Puertasaurus being replaced by the Brachiosaurus in the near future. I think this is a terrible idea for many reasons, but I want to know why the Devs are doing it. Anyone got answers?

Puerta uses an outdated rig and model that don’t meet the devs current standards and don’t work with the new systems they are working on. When it came time for them to decide whether to replace or remodel puerta, they decided to replace him with a more iconic dino to help get the Jurassic Park feel that they want.

But the Brachiosaurus is too much of a different animal to replace it. We need a mega-titanosaur in-game as well. Maybe later they can add in an Argentinosaurus or something.

The questions you need to answer are how will it interact differently, and how does it justify spending upwards of $7000 on it. How does a titanosaur interact differently with any of the playable creatures differently than the brachi will outside of being a bigger, stronger brachi? It would be rather redundant to spend $7000 or more more a creature that would, although cosmetically look different, fill much of the same role.

It eats different food and has a different gameplay due to its different physiology. It will be vulnerable to different predators, able to live in different places, and fill a different niche in the food chain. Perhaps later, when the Devs have more time and more resources, the Isle's mega-titanosaur can be added.

Even if a mega-titanosaur is not added, smaller titanosaurs would make great additions to the game. Saltasaurus could be different from Camarasaurus and Apatosaurus because of its size, body shape, and armor.

The Puertasaurus model (along with many of the other early models) is ripped from The Stomping Lands and wasn't originally made for The Isle. That's literally the only reason it's in the game. It needed to get updated anyway, and since the "large sauropod" niche doesn't necessarily have to be Puertasaurus, a better-known dinosaur is being brought in along with the model replacement.

Also, regardless of what the giant sauropod is, the devs have stated that, due to a variety of reasons, they don’t want to make the giant sauropods playable in survival.
