Distinguish between player and AI.

I've played for 7 hours so far but I don't think I've actually seen another player yet, only a few AI dinosaurs. So I wonder, is there any way to distinguish between AI and player dinosaurs? Will players have name tags over them? I've seen name tags on stream but I guess that's just for group members? Basically when I get killed by a T-Rex for example, how will I know whether it was a player that killed me or AI? Or if I kill someone, any way to tell whether it's a player or AI? I know AI are loud and do calls a lot, but other than that?

theres only 4 ai rex isnt one of them,the 3 herbivore ai are orodromeus,psitaccosaurus,avaceratops and the one carnivorous ai is velociraptor,all of them you cant play in survival

there are only 4 ai that ava, velo, oro, and taco, so if its anything other then them its a player

tho on certain servers such as asura ur able to play as non-survival creatures such as the AI ones tho dw people don't really play them that much and even if you do stumble upon a non ai oro/taco/ava/velo they will probably let themselves be known to u in global chat/act like a player/not like an ai

I think that happens on some server, but the only way is to see what species it is as well how it acts.

There's only four AI in the game: velo, taco, oro, and ava. These are the only one that spawn on carnivore players and nest. They playable for some servers, but, the simplest way to tell is to watch their behavior.

AI, for example, doesn't rest/sit. They only travel in a simple pattern around the area they spawned in, back and forth with the slightest alteration. Taco, Oro, and Ava only run in the presence of a predator, I believe velo will spawn and attack these three while also eating tiny (possibly invisible) gore piles. Velo will also attack juvies and hatchlings.

Anything more complex than this is a player.

Velociraptor
Psittacosaurus
Orodromeus
Avaceratops

Thats the only AI dinos in the game right now, if you see a rex or an allo or other dinosaur its not AI only a few dinos are AI right now <3

As it is right now, the only AI on official servers (not to mention the game in general) are taco, oro, and i think there's avaceratops as well however i also heard there's velo but i'll have to double check. If you see anything aside from these dinos they are indeed a player. So using your example, if you were kllled by a rex on an official server that was indeed a player 100%.

The AI are all of the following species:
Oro
Taco
Velo
Ava

All small, never fighting back (except for the Velo who attack juvis and aimbot to high hell), female gender, spawn based on carnivore hunger

I just got killed as a Steggo by a group of what looked like herbivores on the scent gauge, but they were like raptors or the spitting dinosaur look from jurassic park movie, then they suddenly came in a huge pack and when I would hit one of them with my tail they would vanish into shadows or something weird.

I swore it was AI or an herbivore player but since I don't know the icons I guess it must've been an omnivore because they surrounded me and started eating me once I died. Really frustrating after growing for a few hours as a solo Steggo

I hope they keep the species distinction. This way you never meet another of your species that ends up just being a stupid bot.

For other species it's then mostly about knowing whether it is a selectable character or not.
