the only thing that makes sense is the sprint sound, which is weirdly enough when being the actual rex, sounding more silent to me then the regular trot
the foot sounds of your own are indeed way to deafening, though i am ok with them sounding loud for other people if just casually walking or running around with apexes and trikes
In addition, those thuds could be replaced with a much lower frequency rumble, with a lot less or at lot quieter thud. That could be footfall sound for own Dino and/or heard by other dinos. One of the best examples of the rumble is already used by the game’s rumbling/rolling thunder sound clip(the one not used with lightening). Muffle that sound a little, decrease the volume, use that low frequency rumble to resonate through player speakers and headsets to induce a rhythmic vibration of footfalls that the player feels as much or more than they hear.
As it is, I crouch walk my Rex almost all the time. Not so much to be stealthy, but to keep from logging off my in irritation. I feel crouch walking should consume stamina, but I couldn’t get onboard with the idea until Large Dino’s own footfalls are made much quieter...made much less invasive to the user.
I get it, they're hunters. Not every carnivore is large, though.
"Every" other herbivore of the same size, and smaller (but considered large) cannot crouch. I'm not saying hunter's shouldn't hunt, but make it tougher for the more higher up on the food chain dinosaurs. They currently have it easy enough most times. It doesn't need to be a lot of stamina, just some.
The smaller hunters like utah and dilo for example shouldn't use stamina when crouching. More to the point, the usage could only be for moving while crouching while playing large carnivores.
"If" they just can't get on board with the idea, it's a compromise. Currently, the only time a rex (like a trike) regains stamina is when they are resting only. So, there is that?

Onto the topic. Yes, I agree 100% with what you are saying. It's all about perspective, I agree, "and" it's also how it applies to a video game, as well. In a video game we tend to over do it in order to make something ordinary, extraordinary. That's what they've done in the isle, but they messed up their POV a bit.
Travelling down the same idea of over doing it, a smaller dinosaur should hear a more menacing sound than the same size of dinosaur, make sense? Adding a screen shake is the only thing their missing, and I wager they'll add that post re-code. ARK overdid this, so let's see how the isle fairs?
Let's look at the dinosaurs in the game. There isn't enough size difference between a utah and a rex to warrant the BOOM you hear. Not even close if you're the rex listening to yourself. The only correct part about that is the fact the apex is larger so it will sound heavier.
But, this is a video game, and they gotta blow it out of proportion a bit for entertainment value. Just went too far, though.
