What do you think is the best way to kill a spino? Just get the first hit? Catch it off guard?
Depends on rnjesus I suppose. Everything is easier if you catch em off guard and get lucky on the break though.
I was thinking on taking on a spino nesting some young, i would have had another adult rex to help me but they left. So I am guessing I just need to pray for like and catch em off guard?
So Spino in the future will be able to survive a Rex, but not really kill it in return. On top of that, a Spino, using it's arms, will be able to kill things that a Rex couldn't, and vice versa.
Rex v. Giga is 60-40 in favor of Rex due to Rex's Bone-Break and higher damage output. Giga's slightly larger health pool and better turn radius helps it out against this.
If a Giga gets the first 3 bites in without taking a leg break, it wins by bleeding the Rex out. If the Rex doesn't just go for it and tries to play it safe, it usually loses.
Thank you, that really helps me a lot!
I agree, it’s a huge time investment, and I do agree that’s there are easier dinosaurs out there to kill, and I do exactly what you said I don’t usually, but you gotta think of it as you can’t stop someone from hunting YOU, maybe you don’t fight them, but they might wanna fight you is the problem.
I would still be apprehensive about tackling a Spino; even one with a broken leg. A Rex certainly won't win unscathed.
As for Rex vs Giga; the GIga needs to ambush and tail ride the Rex to be victorious. A Rex can either face-tank or ambush a GIga. As the Rex's article on The Isle Wiki states; a Giga can overpower a Rex given the chance.
These are the highly likely outcomes with alt-turn disabled.
spino attacks much faster than rex does, therefore it wins in a facetank, however, if you break it's leg and constantly run through it biting, run away, turn around, run through again, repeat, you should be able to kill it and live to tell the tale
Exactly.
I recently attacked a spino nesting young, and that’s exactly what happened, I ran through broke it’s leg on first hit and kept running through and back. Even though I was battered and bruised at the end, it seems that is the best tactic.
1. it's a bloody rex, everybody has a boner for it.
2. it's faster and can hunt better then a spino can. there is very little a spino can outrun, and whats more, some of the things it can outrun can simply overpower it, such as shant and cama.
obviously these aren't set in stone, though. people might just get lucky, such as a giga not getting it's leg broken by a rex and managing to bleed it out. people might just be that good with their chosen dino, like a giga bleeding out a spino. and some people might just be flat out incompetent, such as a spino losing to a rex in any way, shape or form.
ninja is correct though, it's getting overhauled and it'll end up in survival along with stego, i believe as part of the recode.
bone break was the most powerful mechanic in the game, but not anymore. bleed is way stronger then it. in a frantic running battle, such as a fight, say, an allo and cerato would have, a rex could potentially have an edge, but with bone break, most things are going to turn around and fight you face to face. and depending on what that is, that could be fatal. trike, for example, beats out rex most of the time in a facetanking battle, and of course spino stomps the vast majority of the time.
another disadvantage is your already mediocre bleed isn't going to do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ against an opponent that has no choice but to stand basically still, while you're inevitably going to be running around to get out of range faster, meaning the bleed damage is just going to stack up and up.
i also agree with alt turn. it's rather annoying when somebody gets triggered over alt turning when it is essentially required to have a proper fight in the isle, and also a lot of other things, like turning away from a cliff edge. it's why nycta is crap.
