The Isle

The Isle

What happened to IGParadise?
Title says it all.
Just curious as to why one of the most popular servers (before I stopped playing for like 3 months) dropped off the map.

The server owners were kidnapped.

Pretty sure they just got bored of the isle and dropped it.
It fell apart due to poor management. IGP and Icey were never shy about saying that it was a content farm for youtube and they didn't really give a sht outside of that. Any time they were asked to do "admin" things they reacted by snapping at everyone. They would enforce some rules on some days and some on others and sometimes would punish people and sometimes ignore it.

They wanted the benefits of having a popular server without any of the work involved in managing a community. Eventually they decided the less rules there were meant the less rule enforcement and less reporting they'd have to see/do. They allowed carnivore mixed packing.

1st battle the 1st day of carnivore mixed packing a lot of carnivore players were in a VC with people on trikes at HH and were openly discussing herbi/carni mixed packing. Trikes attacked other trikes in the fight then logged onto their rexes. Icey was presented with recordings and screenshots and I even think video and nothing was done outside scolding in the general chat.

After that the admins began basically calling the herbi players cry babies and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and this lead to a large chunk leaving the server including me. They gave a big speech with everyone in the discord on a VC and sent the most bizarre mixed messages in a long rant. They said the rules would be enforced more strictly but if you reported rule breaks to them they'd ban you? Like wtf? It was really bizarre and a perfect example of why the server went to sht; mixed messaging and lack of rule enforcement.

After IGP shut down it became Aurora. Aurora is still up with the exact same people from IGP but Icey and IGP aren't involved anymore and there is still carnivore mixed packing. The server is almost never full anymore and it's pointless to play herbivore on it and all you see is groups of rex/giga walking side by side every where.

It's pretty horrible. The community isn't as bad anymore or toxic but the carnivore mixed packing is reeeeeally bad. Nothing in the game can deal with rex bone break and giga bleed, not theris or shants or anything else. There are good people there but it is probably one of the worst servers in the isle in terms of gameplay.

Sorry for the long read but I loved IGP and season 1 on that server I had more fun and made more friends then I ever have playing the isle. Sucks it went to complete ♥♥♥♥.

That about sums it up. I play on Aurora a bit but I refuse to join the discord because it can still get to toxic.

You can still play as herbs, but you need to out-smart the carnis. I survived for three days as a bright yellow para. I saw one of pack of five rexs, a giga, and a couple of dilos. Just sit still behind a bush, try your best not to move, and once they're out of sight, walk in the opposite direction. Being quiet it also key to your survival. Calling out will only attract people towards you. The Para, which is pretty much the loudest playable survival dino, it limits when you can call out. I was so bored that no carnis had tried to kill me that I just threw myself off a cliff because all of the carnis are to busy killing other mix packs than their actual prey. Unless you accidentally walk into one of their packs.

I don't play herbi to afk and use it as a type of VRchat where my herb is a avatar, I play herb to kill ♥♥♥♥ or stake out territory maybe fend of predators after the herd. Maybe running away and hiding is your idea of a fun time but not me. I don't play herb to be sport for 12yr olds in mega packs of gigas and rex.

Fighting back against the 2 most OP dinos in the game one with the highest bleed and the other with bone break isn't possible. Most herbs don't even have bleed so they can send in a rex to break legs and then have gigas bleed em. It's the most unfun combo to die to ever because you can't fight back.

Can you play herb on Aurora? Sure. Is it fun? Only if your idea of fun is afking on a nest typing "XD" in group chat and spending most of your time tabbed out in the discord socializing then getting gang banged by carnivores benefiting from a server that has flipped the entire balance of the game onto it's ass.

This is one of my alts but I actually have around 1000hrs in the isle so I know how to hide. The herbs aren't even organized enough to even mount a attack on Aurora lol It's pointless. If you get brave and want to kill carni apexes good luck finding more than 5 people to join you.

Just look at the server VC's at any time of day and there's like 40+ people in the carnivore VC's and maybe 2-6 in the herb. They've tried everything too lol adding camas and theri and shants and none of it did sht against the rex/giga combo. Oh now they're adding acros because "we need more bleed" LOLOLOL

Carnivore mix packing is not meant to be a thing and the game was not balanced around it. Every carnivore applies bleed only a few herbs do so. It's the worst form of cancerous gameplay I've ever had in the isle and I fought chinese clans.

I love some of the people who play on Aurora but carni mix packing is the most disgusting and sht stained thing I've ever seen in this game.

Yeap. 1000 hours in . server lost there minds when started mix packing . had a trike on there spawned in seen like everything mix packed logged out never went back . mix packing servers will never last . point is and always will be carns vs herb. Lose either and the game will fall faster then it started . this game better get on board with herb life to . 30 percent players are herbs .

I like picking either a dryo, maia, or galli so that I can outrun most of the carnis and then mock then afterwards. Of course there is the occasional juvie that I'll beat to death, but that's no all of the time.
