What is the point of Survival mode?
I am new to this game; have read a little about Survival and from what I gather, you are are supposed to be able to unlock new dinosaurs via a token system where you gather tokens for every full life you have lived as a specific dinosaur, but right now... I have to admit, I haven't gone through an entire life cycle yet, so i have to ask... does that ever happen? And if it doesn't... then what is the difference between Survival and Sandbox? As sandbox has so many more available dinos to play... why do people still play Survival?

I'm sorry but the current Survival gamemode is... sandbox with deluxe length growth.

People still play Survival because well, uh, there are not any good Sandbox servers without overbearing, ridiculous rules.

ATM the game is so easy once you figure out the best strategies to stay alive - because food spawns for you based on your hunger, you just need to learn the % this happens - that it may as well be grinding to achieve a Sandbox dino.

I only play Pachy, Dilo, Carno and Trex now, when I used to stomach the rest of the Survival roster. Why? Because all of those life stages feel like they can do something. Even if weaker than adults at least they can hide, are mobile and sometimes even fun to play as because they arent forced to hide their whole lives.

So, basically... you don't age in sandbox? Like, you always spawn in as an adult? Or is that an adjustment that can be made in individual servers?

In sandbox, you spawn as full adult dinosaur, as ANY dinosaurs that are currently available in the game, not just creatures feature in survival. There is no waiting, no growth. If you die, you just respawn immediately. It’s good for relaxing and testing stuff but give no tension or any accomplishment at all.

Survival doesnt give much either x-x

You spend hours hiding from everything, and only start to do ♥♥♥♥ at 1.0 adult. Death isnt something most players fear, rather its just an inconvenience, a grind back up to full adult before they can play the game.

Legit, if there was a Sandbox server w/o all the 'Non' Survival dinosaurs (Spino, Shant, Theri, etc) and only the bare minimum of rules? I'd be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so down to play the ♥♥♥♥ out of that server.

That's the important part most people forget.
