Why is suchomimus so slow?
Research shows that suchomimus could reach 35 km / h on land and that in the water was an extremely agile animal, thus making it a great fisherman.

Currently we can't hunt practically anything with the current suchomimus. And i think the biggest problem is your agility and speed. Apexes are a big problem because their speeds are pretty much comparative.

Recently i was watching a video which was why i created this topic. A hippo weighing 3 to 4 tons, capable of incredible speeds in and out of the water.

like this example:

With the arrival of deinosuchus and spino in survival, suchomimus will be virtually unplayable. Therefore, as a big fan of aquatic and semi aquatic dinosaurs I believe it is fair to increase your speed in and out of water. So that he is able to escape, and even confront larger dinosaurs.

A thousand apologies for the bad English.

I'd say just shift the base speed of everything faster than the rex up a few km/h to fit in the Sucho at around 34km/h.

I'm sure galli and carno are fine where they're at, not like anyone's going to contest them from a little speed buff. The apexes will be just fine, they still have their ambush speeds.

What if they buff the speed of the sucho but nerfed the stamina, making it croc-like ambusher. Maybe introduce a water ambush ability (just like ambush except no startup and can only be initiated in water, giving a short burst of speed for hunting along the shore)

A good idea makes sense to a fisherman.

Ambushing from the water is Deinosuchus' thing, last I heard.

Sucho is a fisher, likely to get a damage nerf when fishing is in. It's size will probably be enough of a defensive tool against other 3rd Tiers, not an offensive one.

Suchos have an odd spot, I kinda expect them to hunt young Deinos, but Bary seems more suited for that. Maybe Deino are like water rexes, where rexes have to worry about utahs/dilos then Allo/Carnos depending on their stage in life. Bary would be first stage, Sucho second stage, Then Deinos and Spinos compete in the adult stage. Depending on the water speed, Sucho might not need a land speed change.

So not recommended for someone new & just learning the game?
I personally don't recommend it, especially on servers that do not have alt+turn

What servers actually have alt turn? Don't think I've ever used it or seen it used. Not even 109% sure if what it is due to that, but from what I've read here am guessing it turns your dino? I use an x-box controller to play & may have to configure a button for it if worhwhile.

I usually play on only one server (Prelude Realism), is a question i can not answer you, sorry. You would have to enter the server and test for yourself. In relation to alt + turn, it is a feature that gives advantages to less agile dinosaurs, such as: Sucho. The ability to make a 360 degree turn.

Exactly, with an appropriate environment, without the need to increase your ground speed.

Also an option to handle the survival issues is a better map/environmental design. As example: right now even the dense forests can be "visited" by apexes. Yes the view is limited, but there are not much, or any endpoints. Fallen trees , rocks and uneven terrain can be a solution to keep the big boys out of the jungle. Because if a rex/Giga can't manoeuvre or run in this kind of areas, they would avoid it, plus it gives Safespots for mid and even more for lowtiers. I think many would love to see a more detailed map. Next point can be a rethink of the swimming abilities. For example I'm not sure a rex could even swim with that "arms"/ body structure. So why not implement limited areas with shallow waters to cross , plus change/nerf the swimming abilities of most dinosaurs, so they will drown in seconds. Also the swamps could be bigger, you can cross it right now in a minute or two. The mapsize is ok but let's take lazy river for example. It's way to linear and just some meter to left and right and the normal map starts again. Plus to less little siderivers going downhill. Short: the dinosaurs aren't the problem at all, but the missing suitable areas for them. Just 3 ideas

Yes, the environment is a big problem right now. But I believe the hope map will be very rich in detail and ambiance.
