No Long-neck Dinosaurs
Instead of fixing the Camarasaurus and the Puertasaurus long-neck dinosaurs, the developers have given up and simply removed them. I find this is another one-step forward, two-steps back the game has taken. I mostly play herbivores and look forward to progressing to the beloved "Pue". The lack of long-neck dinosaurs is the final straw for me and will no longer play this game. The game has just been getting worse the past few months and there are way too many carnivores compared to herbivores.

they were never intended to be playable from the very start,
they are not being completely removed but are going to be npc instead in the main game mode,
they will still be playable in sandbox and modded servers.

This entitled attitude is what got them removed to begin with.

then why the dinosaurs are playable....? this game never meant to be a dinosaur simulator according to Lord Dindo the game meant to be a survival horror game and not a dino simulator

they meant to be the "hypo" herbs because herbs didn't get strains

I think they meant the fact that sauropods are basically walking slabs of meat on a never ending walk for food, not really fun to play imo

The original game concept never featured herbivores, mostly because it's not fun to play as one, people proved dondi wrong and now herbivores are playable.
This is the original game concept: https://imgur.com/gallery/p0xNg

Sauropods are on a very delicate situation,if done wrong, more problems will come.
They requeire a lot of different controls to work properly.
They're slow and boring, basically because they never die (except camara) and there's no challenge playing as one.
These clips speak by themselves:

You can still play sauropods on sandbox and modded servers, not on progression.

That is YOUR opinion. Just because you don't find Playing pue or camara fun, A lot of other people do. Myself included. I love playing sauropods. It's one of the reasons that this game caught my interest. Not the rex, The Sauropod. It was the only Dinosaur Game that allowed players to PLAY as a sauropod. It was something unique and different. It stood out. I've been holding off on playing camara because it couldn't defend itself. And i've been trying my best to be patient and Wait for camara to get its attack added, EVEN though the devs already had the animation there.
When pue eventually got it's attack. Because at the start just like camara it couldn't defend itself, It actually came one of my Main dinos.

What happened if someone said. Lets move rex. It's slow, Bulldozes everything, And just out right, makes the game unenjoyable for other players that are playing as different species?

Everyone would have the exact same reaction. Everyone would scream at the devs, Asking rex to be added back. Just like Rex isn't all that fun for me. Why? Because it can do whatever the ♥♥♥♥ it wants, without much to worry about. It's Gameplay as of right now is way too easy. No wonder people Are always rexes. The stronger the dinosaur and easier the gameplay, the more people play as it. Don't believe me? Look back on all the times a dinosaur had a buff or bug that made it OP. Shant, had that black Hole. Everyone played it. Giga had insane bleed and speed, Everyone played it. Pue couldn't be damaged. Pue players also increased. Hyper got released, Was weak as ♥♥♥♥. No one played it. Then it got the correct stats added. Everyone went hyper rex. Quetz got released. It could Attack from the skies killing everything in its path. Even Pues. Everyone played it. Spino became OP, Everyone played that. There was less rex players. Allo was OP once too. Everyone played that....The list goes on.

At least with sauropods, You actually have to THINK before you fight or defend yourself. Because your huge and slow, Every Move you make could be a death sentence when defending yourself against a pack. When It's other dinos. They just face tank ♥♥♥♥ it gets boring.
Pue actually needed players that KNEW how to play it. Beginner pue players, Died and had to Learn from their mistakes. Pue takes more time to strategize then other dinosaurs. Specially when there's a pack hunting you.

Not really. Considering The isle Is a dinosaur Game with Humans. Where it STATES you play as dinosaurs. So technically. I bought a dinosaur game to play as dinosaurs. Both are completely different. Expecting to be a deer in a Deer Hunter game is just silly.

Though i couldn't give 2 ♥♥♥♥♥ about the humans in the game. I only bought it for the dinosaurs.

Setting aside whether or not they should be playable, if npc sauropods do not have a means to defend themselves from predators then what fun will they even be to hunt?

It seems kind of boring to just be able to walk over and kill something without it having a chance to defend itself either by fleeing or fighting. Sauropods can't even hide.

Dondi has stated in the past that the sauropods wouldn't be playable because of the high number of controls needed for a player to defend themselves. The AI will have a much easier time controlling them then we would. As much as it pains me to say that because I loved wandering around as a pue but there is a reason we have mods.
Nekrum Dec 26, 2017 @ 9:47am
well at least you will still be able to unlock them and play in progression and sandbox

"high number of controls needed for a player to defend themselves"
*cough*
another dinosaur game did only 2 attacks for a sauropod, and its pretty much playable and dangerous

While I'm fairly neutral to the subject, something I noticed that's seldom addressed in discussions about sauropods being playable in the default game (not just this thread but elsewhere as well) is what exactly would their "gimmick" for survival be (other than the size of adults) and how would juvenile and subadult sauropods differ from other playable herbivores of comparable size?

Removed: Putera & Camara from Progression. People kept complaining there was no attack, we never intend to add a attack in because they will be NPC only in the future.

The wording had left me with the impression npc sauropods wouldn't have attacks.
