How to eat?

My son bought this game a few days ago. But for some reason there's nothing to eat (pressing "e"). I played a herbivore for some time but I can't seem to find anything to eat. I treid a few servers. I also saw my son playing as a carnivore. He found a dead t-rex but was not able to eat from it. Drinking *is* possible. Until now this game looks impressive, but without this essential part there's not much gameplay to do.

Hello. Which herbivore was your son playing as? Did he hold down E?

Well, this is not what I consider a game yet, more like Dino life simulation instead. As a herbivor, your begining meal would be flowers. After first progression in to second teir dino, then you can start to eat shrup. Third tier allow you to eat pine bush and so on. Good luck.

Thank you very much for the help. We hold the E button but nothing happens. I think we didn't try the flowers yet. I will ask my son to try that. We also didn't know that the tiers define what a dino eats.
For the makers of the game: it would be nice if there's some sort of in-game hint what you can actually eat.

By the way: my son switched to carnivores and lives off carcasses.
