You simply heal over time. Resting helps healing, as well.

Having full water and food also helps

Full stomach helps with healing and full water helps with bleed...if your bleeding in a conflict getting to safety or ending the fight asap should be your main priority . Sitting down will slow the bleed and begin "clotting". Mud pits allow "wallowing" (rolling in the mud) which stops bleed quicker . Be wary while bleeding as it leaves a scent that can be tracked, so as soon as your bleeding stops and begins healing relocate to another hiding spot to heal. There's also a mutation that can be selected to become more bleed resistant.
Even if your bleed is healing ,it will still take time to "refill", and the wound can be re-opened. Enjoy.

There's mud in Legacy ? havn't played legacy much maybe 7 hours total and not too familiar with any threads from 2017, only played the isle for the last few years . It was just some info I've found to be useful . There's not much of a "tutorial" on how to play the isle so watching more well-known players on youtube plus streams have helped a lot since I started.

He means this forum post was written in 2017, so info from the current build is not relevant to the OP question.
