Progression Point System
I think I've found out a way to gain progression points without any type of killing. I believe that this can be combined with other types of progression systems.

First off, I think the progression system should be based off of movement. In almost every map in The Isle, there are a wide range of coordinates, mostly consisting of -500 through 600. If you have played the isle for a while (Bars) you will know that you could pull up coordinates. Well, if you could walk 3 whole coordinates (-400 to -403) you would gain one progression point. This will promote movement in a server and will provide more action for the people who are just afking in their bush.

Even for herbivores, this promotes herds and marches across the maps searching for food to survive. You can play and march with buddies, while slowly gaining points to progress to anky or stego. It also prevents herbivores from corpse guarding, camping a water source for apexes, and nesting in people way too often.

Even if you are a little guy who is a scavenger like Herrera or Austro, even Velo, other carnivores can't simply sit and eat their food for hourse or else they will be getting nowhere near their goals of progressing. This also means that you simply can't wait in a bush for an hour, find food, and do it again. You will have to be active, which makes the servers active, which brings more herbivores (some people will give up on the struggle of Carnivores), which brings more fun times, which will ultimately bring mroe people to The Isle.

Don't forget about the fact that having a bad spawn with the system in place won't be such a bad idea. You will be able to go to the lake 500 coordinates away and gain about 160/170 points while doing so. Plus, the less popular areas where the bad spawns are have less of a chance of bigger carnivores eating you...

this would be silly as people would just march back and forth from (as your example) -403 to -400 to -403 to -400, progression is being replaced with survival mode anyway.

It might be an exploit at first but nobody is simply willing to go from -403 to -400 if there isnt any actual action. You will simply bore yourself out. Plus, with water and food, you simply can't do this. Maybe if possible, there can be a limit to the amount of points you earn in a day.

It would be hard if you were a smaller dinosaur that must stay by its flower or scavenging meat area, and of course water.
