Omnivorous diet would be easy to survive as once you think it.

I don't know, but if things like Oviraptor or Deinocheirus were to be coming ingame, which I believe they had been mentioned a long while ago, I would see them being herbivores for the game.

Too easy

Not necessarily too easy if done right. Of course there need to be drawbacks but there are many options. Rarer plants, being not really equipped for hunting, having to eat both types of food, etc.

Then again "too easy" doesn't really cut it as reason against omniores either. Don't forget herbivore feeding is already childs play and carnivores above tier two aren't much harder.

Most of omnivourus dinosaurs mentioned would probably not survive very well when faced with Allosaurs, Rexes, Shantus, even utahraptor. Making the ominvore a weak tree but very versitle would be nice to see.

(It's not easy, c'mon guys they balanced that stuff.)
Totally depends on wich omnivore youre playing, i dont know much about omnivores
and dinosaurs.
But i know they have advantages/disadvantages that others don't have.
Maybe you don't need to eat both diets neccesarily but just eat what you get IF you can get/kill it

Herbs have their ways of getting their food, defending themselves with their mass and weapons
Carnnivores obviously are hunters/scavengers mostly armed with dangerous tools to rip flesh
but omnivores have i think speed and mobility to gather food efffectively but may or may not have tools to kill
other ones may be armed with claws and fangs but weak in defense

playing as a omnivore can be rewarding in finding something to eat, but they lack
Mass and predatory advantage (sometimes depends on wich one)

The most likely candiates for omivores are oviraptor, gigantoraptor, and other egg thiefs. None of them are particularly built for hunting, at least nothing larger than a small raptor.

They could also be balanced by only being allowed to eat very specific plants. Possibly ones they would need to eat many of to get substantial food from.

It is an interesting idea, especially since each playable dino in the upcoming survival mode will each need a gimmick to be playable. Perhaps one could be added...

Ends up just being a glorified herbivore that's also equipped for running down small things and scavenging. Herbs atleast have to leave the area if there's no plants left. I don't see how you'd prevent players from just heading off to a corner of the map and force them to eat both unless you want something with two seperate hunger bars.
Sounds like you just have a more deadly galli that can eat corpses.

In regards to egg eating, that'll be a thing and I don't know if it's restricted to a specific species.

We could make some herbivores be able to eat eggs though, something like Galli or Gigantoraptor (if it's still planned) wouldn't miss a chance if they come across an unprotected nest.
The over abundance of vegetation might also be an issue. If scarcity could become a serious problem for herbivores omivores could be more useful. Afterall Gigantoraptor lived in a desert.
